  1. 5.0 Circle Playhouse (4 reviews)
    - Excellent and intimate community theatre
Spent 2-3 hours Theatre & Performances
    Circle Playhouse image
We went to see our first play ever last night at Circle Playhouse. Even though I've lived in the area for years, I had never been to this intimate and charming venue. Two or three rows of seats surround 3 sides of the stage which is slightly lower than the audience. The play we saw was a gripping, serious drama with challenging roles and staging called Eye of God. It was excellent! I couldn't believe the quality of the acting and clever staging. Because of those things, I was gripped right from the beginning through the whole play and forgot I was in a community theatre in central New Jersey and not some bigger, more famous venue. If you like theatre, I highly recommend a visit to Circle Playhouse. See more..
  2. 5.0 Rutgers University Ecological Preserve (1 review)
    - Great place for family to hike
    Forests • Scenic Walking Areas
The Preserve is a wonderful place to hike, bike and walk your dog. The trails are probably the best marked and maintained of any hiking location I've visited in NJ. The are some hills but none or so rugged that children won't enjoy them. See more..
  3. 4.5 East Jersey Old Town Village (27 reviews)
    - Great local history
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • History Museums
East Jersey Old Town Village image
Located in Johnson Park in Piscataway, NJ, East Jersey Old Town Village is comprised of sixteen reconstructed and replica 18th and 19th century structures. They represent architecture typical of farm and merchant communities once found in central New Jersey. Dedicated to teaching the history, traditions, folk arts, and craftsmanship of the people who lived and worked throughout the region, the Village is home to ‘Raritan Landing...Uncovering a Forgotten Past’, a permanent exhibit about Raritan Landing, an 18th-century Colonial port once located on the river. Explore the site and meet the historical interpreters that bring the Village to life through their historic trades and crafts. A gateway site for the Crossroads of the American Revolution, National Heritage Area, and situated along the Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail, the Village offers awarding winning exhibits, living history, and seasonal programs. 4. 4.5 Shi Stadium (3 reviews)
    - Written by a Penn State fan
Spent More than 3 hours Sports Complexes
    Shi Stadium image
As the title states I was here for Penn State and was impressed. The concourses were a little narrow but easy to navigate. I had little trouble finding my seat. Despite being bleacher seating it was comfortable and each fan had a decent amount of space. Be ready for fireworks, cannons, and train horns. My only complaint is there were only two employees scanning tickets at the one gate. One more thing if you choose to park at Jersey Mike's Arena be ready to take a shuttle which will take another hour each way. See more..
  5. 4.0 Johnson Park (88 reviews)
    - Park was great but the fox needs to get better treated
    Spent 2-3 hours Parks
    Johnson Park image
It was very nice, not very crowded except around the zoo. It was well maintained. The only thing that kept the visit from being excellent was the zoo, in particular the fox enclosure. While some exhibits were empty of the animal, the fox one was troubling since the fox kept pacing back and forth. It was distressing to see. The poor animal needs to get more enrichment! See more..

The Cornelius Low House/Middlesex County Museum is a Historic National Register home built in 1741 for Cornelius Low, a wealthy merchant of Raritan Landing. The home is one of the best examples of Georgian architecture in New Jersey. The Low House has a dual purpose, to interpret the history of this fine structure, but also to research and mount rotating exhibits about New Jersey history. Recent exhibits have included a Centennial display on New Jersey during World War I, and an exhibit on New Jersey Diners. Visit the current exhibit 'Mid-Century New Jersey: The Garden State in the 1950s' through June 28, 2020. Open Year-Round, excluding Holidays, Rutgers Football game days and Rutgers graduation.
