  1. 5.0 Sully's Comedy Cellar (1 review)
    - Sully's Comedy Cellar is super fun and an excellent value!
Saturday: 11:30 AM - 2:00 AM Comedy Clubs
I never really take the time to comment on my experiences at restaurants, or in this case, a comedy club, but we had such a great time, I wanted to tell people about this place! Sully's Comedy Cellar is downstairs from our favorite restaurant, The Bowman, where we were having dinner on a Friday night. We had dinner and were planning on just heading home, but then our server gave us two free tickets to the show with our check. My husband had a tough day at work and wanted to unwind, so we said why not. When we went downstairs, we were greeted by the club owner who is there every weekend (we know this because we've seen her every time we've gone since) who told us about their special: $20 pays for your admission and all you can drink. We passed since we had free passes, but have gone back and done the $20 deal, which is a bargain considering comedy clubs' drinks can be expensive. This way you know what you're paying up front. Nikki was our waitress and was very friendly, checked on us often and made sure we got "all we could drink" for the twenty bucks we spent a piece. The comedians were really good...there were three, but the last guy was the best. My jaw literally hurt from laughing! There was a jerk who kept talking during the show, but management took care of him quickly and he wasn't a problem the rest of the show. And that hasn't happened since. If you're looking for something different to do, you should try this place! We are now regulars and it's nice how they greet us by our names now when we come. It's a family-run place and they make you feel very welcome! See more..
  2. 5.0 Cromwell Valley Park (1 review)
    - Well maintained trails to view forests, wildlife and historic structures
    Hiking Trails
    Cromwell Valley Park image
Cromwell Valley Park is a well kept combination of forest trails and historic farm lands situated along Cromwell Bridge Road nestled between Minebank Run and a wooded ridge that both lead toward the Big Gunpowder River. The stately stone Sherwood House serves as park officer/headquarters. Maps are available to guide visitors along the trails and to the sites. I was particularly interested in seeing the 19th Century lime kilns, as a family friend had helped with their restoration. The three kilns were impressive. Wildlife and wild flowers abound. Many families were out enjoying our first semi-cool but sunny day in several weeks. See more..
  3. 5.0 Willow Grove Nature Education Center (1 review)
    - Enjoying nature rain or shine
    Visitor Centers
Willow Grove Nature Education Center image
Willow Grove Nature Education Center hosted an event by Gilchrist to help families celebrate loved ones who had passed. The main feature was education about and the release of new butterflies and a walk on the trails around the property. Even with the rain, the setting in one of the valleys leading to Loch Raven Reservoir and the Gunpowder River, was beautiful. It was the tiny mushrooms and flowers that I remember most. Looking forward to a sunny day to explore more See more..

    Weber's Cider Mill Farm image
We came to buy fresh corn on the cob, which was just coming into season and were not disappointed. A variety of fresh squash, onions, and watermelon were among the available seasonal crops. Had to buy some Maryland gear including a crab ornament and an Old Bay tea towel. Blueberries and peaches were also available as were Blueberry donuts with and without icing. Always can find something unusual, and today it was mustard pickled eggs. The store is spacious and checkout efficient. Always enjoy a visit to Webers. See more..
  5. 4.5 Double Rock Park (41 reviews)
    - Would never know the beltway/interstate is nearby
    Parks
    Double Rock Park image
The park is so peaceful that one would never know the beltway/interstate is nearby. I was surprised to see this relatively large park on the map, and after winding through several residential roads, I finally found the entrance. Clearly, local people have no such trouble. Individuals, dog owners, and families with children were seen throughout on the well-kept paths, the playing fields, and relaxing on benches. There were two baseball fields, two large playsets, and 3 or 4 pavilions. I was particularly impressed by the path along the stream that bubbled and tumbled over beautiful cascades of rock. This hidden gem is a valuable neighborhood and county resource. See more..

    - Lunch with Son

    Chuck E Cheese's image
This is my son's last week of school and is doing half days, so we decided to go to CEC. Location is not the closest to us but nicer. There are a different clientele and nicer staff then the location in Middle River/Essex. CEC can be pricey, but if you do your homework you can get a deal. My son always loves the games and Chuck E. Clean for the most part and drama free. If we don't go to the location closest to our home- Bel air, we come here. See more..
