   Lions Park is one of the focal points of Ontario and an important part of the community. With the new Recreation District in place and the Splash Pad under construction this will again be a place that Ontario will be proud of. I am sure that the Aquatic Center will open soon and again will be a hum of activity. The park is going through some construction pains but still the Ontario City with its partnership with Jacobs continues to keep the park in good shape with the funds available. I do like a new Buddy Bench that was donated by one of our local citizens and see many individuals use it to strike up conversations. I also like the Veterans Monument that was installed by our Japanese partners in the community that honors our men and women that served. Also want to mention the new Holiday Tree donated by Jacobs and Veteran Advocates of Ore-Ida that lights up every year to help celebrate the season. All in all just a nice place to relax and make new friends. See more..

   This is a hidden gem in Ontario Oregon. The House that Art built is a house converted into a local art gallery. Most of the items here are made locally. There are many items for all ages. Unique art the makes you wonder, How did they come up with that? Along with paintings there are sculptures, glass work, soaps, and numerous items that defy the mind. New items come in all the time.    My visiting photographer friends sought local places they could photograph as representative of this area. Having taken them to all the most distinctly scenic places I could imagine, we stopped at this shaded park on the Snake River to focus on the rest of the day. Avoiding a vehicle of questionable repute, we parked under a large tree and relaxed while planning in the serenity of the setting. It is not a park I will revisit, but it served its purpose for our needs. See more..
