   We went up there 11/21st the day after their last apple pickings, so we were sad . But it really is pretty up there so cute. The barbecue smelled amazing coming from the restaurant. We visited the store and bought some of there fresh apple cider(yum)! And bought a bag of the previously picked apples. Lots of cute items for sale.    We went to Riley's Apple Farm on a Thursday night and saw the Legend of Sleepy Hollow put on by Riley’s Farm Theatre Company. We had a blast. The dinner and a show lasted the perfect amount of time and the group kept us entertained and well-fed. We loved the spooky hay ride and the barn-raising dancing.    Snow-Line Orchard sits at 5,000 feet in the mountains above Yucaipa where we grow 36 varieties of apples and have 3 flavors of apple cider. Established in 1898, it has long been a major apple producer in Oak Glen. Snow-Line is a 118-year-old apple orchard that has an apple packing shed, cider mill, and winery located in the mountain area of Oak Glen, California. We are one of the oldest apple producers in Southern California. We grow over 44 varieties of apples and we make our own apple cider in three favors. We have apple and cider tasting during apple season. We have u-pick raspberries in the late summer and early fall. We make the ”now famous” apple cider mini donuts.    Apple ranch featuring fresh produce, cider, jams, jellies, wines and more in the main barn, along with several smaller specialty shops featuring antiques, fine home decor, clothes, toys, and gifts. The restaurant on the premises offers delicious sandwiches and other lunch and dinner fares, and handicap-accessible restrooms . There is a beautiful picnic park on the grounds, and several animal enclosures for free viewing. On Sundays during fall there is a free Pirate Stunt Show in an outdoor theater. The main barn has a snack bar with fairground-type food, along with some more high-end foods such as New Zealand style meat pies. Local vendors will also be offering their wares during the fall months, which includes everything from kettle corn to hand-made crafts. Entrance and parking are free.    Here’s what I want from apple picking: about 100 opportunities to take cute pictures of my kids, for them not to tell me they are bored, and if I come home with a few apples, great. So Riley’s is great for all of that, plus I didn’t expect the flower picking, pumpkin picking, cider pressing and restaurants. It is a bit of a hike if you don’t get good parking, but there are employees about every 100 feet or so to ask if you need help or point you in the right direction. It’s dusty. It’s not easy to navigate with a stroller. And the bbq restaurant is fine. But all I was expecting was a photo op and a few overpriced apples so this exceeded my expectations. See more..
