These are really neat because it's the first time I have ever seen three covered bridges right in a row!!! We actually missed the third one the first time around, until someone told us, so we had to go back. All red covered bridges. See more..

Fascinating artifacts and exhibits for a small museum. The displays are well done and the narratives are well written. Worth spending a couple of hours here to immerse yourself in each exhibit. I loved the cannon and the swords. See more..

One of our favorites! We come to Vermont every couple of years to see the fall colors, do some hiking, and check out some cool covered bridges. The Slaughterhouse Covered Bridge is definitely one of our favorites. It's old, but the red color makes it stand out. See more..
  4. 4.5 Good Measure Brewing Co. (7 reviews)
    - A Gem in Central Vermont
Spent 1-2 hours Bars & Clubs

While visiting friends in Vermont, they took us to Good Measure for dinner in a Saturday. It was exactly what I wanted. The beer is solid. I tried the Hawk Eye (imperial red ale) and the Townie (Vermont lager). Both beers can stand up to any other microbreweries, and the Townie is crisp and refreshing. The food was great after a day of hiking and exploring Vermont. Our server Abby recommended the Autumn sandwich, which was a Vermont experience of braised pork, apple, cheddar, and Maple Bourbon Coffee Glaze. All in all, it is a gem of a place to find in central Vermont and would definitely recommend to anyone passing through. See more..
  5. 4.5 Stony Brook Covered Bridge (2 reviews)
    - Wonderful covered bridge

    Stony Brook Covered Bridge image
Up in Northfield, Vermont, my son and I traveled to the Stony Brook Covered Bridge on a Sunday afternoon. Built in 1899, it sat majestically over a tranquil body of water, surrounded by colorful oak tree, undisturbed by civilization or national politics. Well worth driving out of the way to see.
