- 5.0 Premier Centre For the Arts (2 reviews)
-Christmas Tea
Theaters • Convention Centers
We have been going to the Christmas Tea and other events at the PCA for several years now and we are always impressed. The kids always have a good time and this year was too cute. We loved the Grinch and Abominable Snowman and the Heat Miser was the BEST! I love how they include the audience and always take time for pictures afterwards. We got our tickets on Groupon but would have gladly paid full price. The only thing I didn't like was the change from tables and chairs to theater seats. They were a little tight to sit in and made it difficult to juggle the drinks and snacks. See more..
- 5.0 Augustine State Wildlife Management Area (1 review)
-stunning views of the river/bay and wetlands
Spent 1-2 hours State Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Although Augustine State Wildlife Management Area is listed as being located in Middletown, it is found in two sections along Route 9 both north and south of Port Penn. The preserve is managed by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control. There are winding trails among the marshes and stunning views of the river/Bay and Wetlands. An informative sign tells us that the area is part of the Delaware Bayshore Byway. The signs provide QRC updates on migratory and native birds. In fact, the area is called a birding "Hotspot." - 4.5 Dutch Country Farmers Market (92 reviews)
-Fisher's Meat Market & PIG Roasts
Sunday: Flea & Street Markets
I have been using Fisher's Meat Market inside the Farmers Market for years. I have always appreciated the quality of their meats and hospitality of their staff. When the COVID19 pandemic hit, Fisher's Meat Market became a true blessing. I called ahead and placed my meat order with Fisher's and paid ahead. I simply pulled up to the curb, phoned the market and my meats were delivered to my trunk. I utilized this service throughout the entire pandemic until they discontinued it recently. Fisher's meat not only provided a very helpful and safe way for me to get my meats during the pandemic, but quality meats superior to the grocery store. I do not shop anywhere else for my ground beef. Theirs is top notch. Prices have gone up over the past year, but I still continue to buy. I would highly recommend Fisher's Meats inside the Dutch Country Farmer's Market. Note: PIG ROASTS are held on select weekends throughout the Spring, Summer and early Fall. It is worth it IF you are in the area. See more..

- 4.5 La Dolce Vita Spa for Wellness (6 reviews)
-Relaxing Treat!
Spent 1-2 hours Spas
My husband wanted to get me something special for my birthday. He suggested a massage, but since I was visiting my daughter at the time, I decided a side by side massage might be fun and what a treat it was! The one hour massage was just perfect to help us relax. It culminated with champagne and a light snack. Sarah and Storm, the masseuses were amazing! The facility was beautifully decorated and the music in our room provided a calming atmosphere. I found the price very reasonable too. I've been to several spas in the past and this facility is tops on my list. See more..

It's primarily a group activity, booked in advance, although the bars accept walk-ins when space is available. - 4.0 Middletown Baptist Church (2 reviews)
-Away in a Manger Drive-Thru Living Nativity Scene
Sunday: 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM Churches & Cathedrals
We went to this church for the Away in a Manger Drive-Thru Living Nativity event. It was offered one evening in December 6-8pm. We drove down and pulled right into the drive leading to the church. We were told to tune our car radio to the corresponding radio station. The trees lining the drive were lit with Christmas lights and had ropes connecting the trees. As we rounded the bend we spotted the living nativity scene. Here they had sheep, donkey, goats, a horse and a pony. They also had a small children's choir singing Christmas carols as we approached. The manger was complete with the wise men, Mary, Joseph & some shepherds. Baby Jesus was a doll, but that was probably a good idea since it was so cold that night! At the end of the living nativity were a couple of children dressed as angels. As we exited the nativity, we were handed a gift bag for the car. Gift bag contained an informational pamphlet on the church, A special note of thanks, a few Hershey kisses, 4 mini candy canes and a Ghirardelli chocolate square. Overall, we enjoyed this living nativity scene. It was well done and well lit. I would attend this event if it was offered again in the future. It was a nice way to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas in a social distanced atmosphere & from the comfort of your own car! We enjoyed it so much that we drove through a second time! I would recommend. See more..

Its too bad Coleman's is so far off the beaten path that we rarely see anyone here. The ice cream is very good and during the summer people should eat more ice cream. They should get a location closer into Middletown. See more..
- 3.5 Back Creek Golf Club (3 reviews)
-Nice Mix of 18 holes and 19th hole
Golf Courses
Can’t beat playing 18 holes and then socializing at 19th hole and Back Creek does it right. The golf course is in great shape even with all the play they get. They have food and drink specials on certain nights and I highly recommend Monday burger night. See more..
- 3.5 Augustine Beach (3 reviews)
-Quiet roadside recreation area
Beaches
The parking lot is huge compared to the beach, but the quiet waters offer a peaceful setting overlooking the river/Bay. While today was too cold for swimming, hiking, or picnics, those facilities await warmer weather. Enjoyed watching someone bring his dog for a little escape, and the dog had fun running up and down the sand. Today, seagulls and ducks provided the "wildlife" experience. This is a valuable community respurce. See more..
- 3.5 Middletown Historical Society (3 reviews)
-great group of history buffs
Speciality Museums • History Museums

- 3.5 The Town Church (2 reviews)
-Trunk or Treat
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Churches & Cathedrals
We went to "The Town" for a trunk or treat event they were hosting in their parking lot. Event was crowded and parking was very limited. There were several cars offering treats for the kids in addition to inflatables, a small petting zoo and several kids characters on location too. No restrooms that I could find for the public. I thought it was just OK. I probably would not attend this particular event again in the future though as it was way too crowded for what was offered. See more..
- 3.5 Middletown Main Street Pocket Park (2 reviews)
-Cute Little Nook
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Main Street Pocket Park is a cute little nook on Main Street. It is a cement slab/alleyway that has been turned into a little "park". There are a few seats and a patio set to sit at here. Maybe 9 seats in all. You can read a book or just relax. One of the walls of the park is a painted mural. It is painted to look like a hillside in the back portion and the front portion is painted to look like an antiques store front. The opposite wall was just plain grey paint. There are several potted flowers in the pocket park that really enhance the overall feeling of the nook. Overall, not a large "park" and not much to see, but it is a cute little nook where you can sit and relax for a moment if you are walking around downtown Main Street. See more..
- 3.0 Silver Lake Park (9 reviews)
-Park?
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
Saw the sign for the park and thought we would check out the park. Behind the sign is an elementary school and school parking lot. If you pull into the school parking lot, there is an athletic field beside the parking lot. I did NOT see an actual park with playgrounds for the kids or walking trails. Did not stay to explore any further since school is NOT out of session yet. Website says there is a public pool behind the school with daily rates $3 or you can buy a membership. See more..
