- 5.0 Haunted bear Valley Farms (3 reviews)
-A real scary haunted hayride near Big Bear Lake
Farms
A Halloween must! We love visiting haunted houses and rides. This was truly the best. The actors did an amazing job of creating a scare fest. There are some parts of the tour that will freak you out. I believe the 7pm ride is okay for kids and those that prefer a less scary event. Wear comfy shoes as you will walk through a haunted house as well. Definitely bring a sweater. See more..
- 4.5 Big Bear Historical Museum (40 reviews)
-Original buildings, antiques and a working blacksmith shop.
Thursday: History Museums
Dont miss this museum as it has the Big Bear history set out as an old mining town. You get to go into the original buildings that were moved to the site. Over one million artifacts, it is hard to leave. Plenty of local docents answer all of your questions and the blacksmith shop is maned by real talkative blacksmiths making items you can buy. Only open a few days a week, kids and I include the adults will have the best time ever See more..
- 4.0 The Cave (47 reviews)
-Great concert at the Cave!
Thursday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Theaters
The Cave is a truly one-of-a-kind concert and comedy venue in the heart of Big Bear. The lighting, sound, laser light shows, gourmet concessions, craft beer, comfortable seating, room to dance, and of course amazing acts are not common for such an intimate venue. It is this perfect mix of location, amenities, and amazing live entertainment that make The Cave a venue that will bring you closer to your favorite bands than you ever thought possible. See more..
- 4.0 Happy Hills Trail (4 reviews)
-Great views and challenging hike
Hiking Trails
I didn't realize that the paved portion of this trail was part of the "hike" as it appeared as just a introduction or a sidewalk getting people to some picnic tables for a great view of the Metcalf Creek which is super calming. After the paved sidewalk area, the trail picks up a well demarcated section that climbs up and behind and around enormous boulders which were fun to navigate. This part of the hike can be quite challenging as the pine needles and sand make for uneasy footing, but definitely doable for those in decent shape. Be wary of those persons who have made sections of this trail hidden behind boulders their homes. We didn't see anyone back in there, but they often don't like their campsites messed with. It's a great trail that is quiet even on a beautiful weekend day. See more..
