We visited with our son and two grandchildren (9& 5). This was the perfect place. We went on a 1 hr loop through the woods and we went through a couple of streams which was super cool!! Great views on top of a ridge. Horses were great and well cared for and the riders with us very pleasant and let us enjoy the peacefulness of the experience. I highly recommend this particular trail ride! See more..

    Zoos
    Hochatown Petting Zoo image
I can’t say enough good things about this place! We were hoping we were going on a less crowded day so we could spend more time with the animals. It turned out that three people didn’t show for work and everyone in the area decided that was the day to go to the petting zoo. So it was busy and they were understaffed. But even that didn’t hinder our great experience. They have great and some unusual animals. Some in cages you had to ask if you could pet them but they we’re happy to let you and tell you about their animals. Super fun and a must visit place if you love animals and/or have children with you. See more..

Linda, Russell, and the rest of the staff at Fish Tales Winery were so warm and welcoming! They made our Broken Bow experience so memorable. The wine tasting was amazing and we liked so many wines, it was hard to choose just one bottle to take home! The atmosphere was calm and inviting, and we sat there all afternoon and just drank wine and chatted by the fireplace. Highly recommend the dip sampler and the peach wine! See more..
  6. 4.5 Beavers Bend State Park (64 reviews)
    - Parking Pass First, then enjoy the park.
Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM State Parks
    Beavers Bend State Park image
Pay attention to the parking pass signs, and get the pass while you have service or connect to their wifi. Or venture into the park to the Heritage museum BEFORE attempting to park anywhere. I'm almost certain that one of the parking enforcement trucks watched us pull into a spot because it wasn't 5 minutes away from the car when we were getting a ticket. Other than that, we enjoyed our time! We got the pass for the whole day, and drove through the park, taking in all the scenery. Then, we stopped off at the Spillway to checkout the dam and watch people fish in the stream. We hiked down to the edge of the lake and put our feet in the water. We rented a paddle boat for an hour. Lots of fun things to do and see. We spent our entire day here. See more..

  8. 4.5 Vojai's Winery (46 reviews)
    - Great wine.
    Tuesday: Wineries & Vineyards
    Vojai's Winery image
We visited this location after a disappointing trip to a winery across the street... “The three stooges,” or something like that. This winery, tucked back from the road and with rustic aesthetic, offered a great sampling. The sommelier was fun and energetic. It was the perfect ending to a vacation away with my love. Thirteen sampling’s later, ending with a slushy of mixed wines, we agree it was the best decision to come here! We’re also leaving with a mixed case of our new favorites! See more..

The people that own the place are really nice people .my son and I was in Oklahoma for 3 days on Wednesday we called around and most of the gocarts race tracks was closed until later in the week. Bigfoot owner was there working to get things ready for the weekend. The lady that answered the phone told my son that they was there and they was welcome to come in and race. My sons had a great time driving the gocarts . The place is really nice and the car are really nice and fast ( There's a person monitoring the races that can slow the cars down remotely if needed for safety I was impressed with all the safety and rules and that they could control the cars speeds to keep everyone safe ) every thing is really well maintained. The pice was very fair. We will visit the Bigfoot race track the next time we are back in Oklahoma. I would to thank the owners and the staff for letting my son's have a great time making a wonderful memory on our trip to Oklahoma. See more..

So much depth to this museum! A must see if you want to learn more about indigenous and native textiles, pottery, masks, art, agriculture and more. I rate this museum better than the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture and Santa Fe. My 9yr old and 6yr old were thoroughly entranced by the dinosaur, the pottery, the activity center, the art and the vast collection of indigenous tools. See more..

This is the place if you just wanna get out of the busy stressful week. No cell signals no worries no tv or radio unless u want to bring one . We stayed in the cabin inside the park and u can do a lot of activities everyday with your friends and family. It’s good for kids as well lots of activities they can do and it’s nice for everybody to be disconnected with gadgets and internet ♥️. The cabin is fully furnished with kitchen so u can just bring your own groceries. They have a restaurant inside the park as well or if u wanna drive 10 miles outside the park they have fast foods and local restaurants. It’s inexpensive to rent a cabin during off peak . I highly recommend this place and for sure we’ll come back.♥️ See more..

  13. 4.0 Wheelock Academy (6 reviews)
    - History is waiting for you to see.
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Wheelock Academy image
Who has heard of Wheelock Academy, much less know where Millerton, Oklahoma is? I didn't until we visited Beaver's Bend and saw the sign for Wheelock. Wheelock Academy is a female boarding school founded in 1832 by the Choctaws who were removed to Oklahoma via the Trail of Tears. There are surviving buildings from the original academy. In the most recently built part of the academy, there are many, many pictures of the former residents of the academy. Seeing the life of these girls and reading the letters from family, requesting admission of their children brought tears to my eyes. The last Native American girls were moved in 1955. Since 1993, Wheelock has appeared on the list of Oklahoma's Most Endangered Historic properties. In 2000, the Academy was lised as one of America's Eleven most endangered historic places. See more..

    - Amazing display of taxidermy talent!

    Beavers Bend Wildlife Museum image
The small charge (6.50 for seniors) was well worth it. Museum tour takes you (self guided) with audio unit to different displays covering local wildlife and all the way to the African continent. There are places to sit and enjoy yourself. We spent nearly an hour. During the last half of the tour you come to a window where you can watch the taxidermist at work! He was working on an elk head and it was very interesting. He and his wife own the museum and he has done all the taxidermy work. Very Impressive. Well worth the time!!!! See more..
