Fantastic drinks, outstanding service, and solidly good food. The bartender not only made great margaritas, but he was able to manage the customers well. We heard him deny an obviously drunk woman another drink unless she had a ride home. Impressive. I’m thankful that they had gluten free options. I’m a fan . See more..

Not only was the food delicious but the customer care was top notch. Food was delivered to my car with no waiting (we had called earlier in the day). When we got it home, it was well packaged and hot. The salad was fresh and a delightful mix of salad greens and fresh vegetables. The bread was warm and delicious. The Three Meat Penne flavorful with lots of meat and a well seasoned sauce . My husband and I shared an entree, and the other went in the freezer. IN all a perfect ending to the day, with no dishes to wash! THANK YOU! And even though it was really hard to pass up this time... the chocolate hazel cake is delicious too! Will get it next time. - Great little spot for good wine, conversation and relaxation!
    Wineries & Vineyards
Butterfly Creek Winery & Vineyards image
The wildfire smoke cut our time in Yosemite short, so we were looking for a way to kill some time in the foothills before heading back to the Bay Area. My friend found this winery through a Google search, so we headed over. It was easy to access from our base in Oakhurst and incredibly well-signed. We followed the road back through the vineyard to the charming, tiny tasting room where we were first greeted by a very welcoming dog, then by Bob the vintner. After a generous, free tasting of some delicious wines and lots of stories about Bob’s adventures in and around the Park, we ended up with a bottle each to take home and a glass each to enjoy while relaxing in the beautiful, quiet outdoor seating area. This place is well worth a visit for good wine, good conversation, and a beautiful setting to rest your legs before, after, or between Yosemite adventures. Let Bob know we said hi! See more..

Want a great home crafted beer??? This is a "not to miss" stop in Mariposa!! Be aware of the sign next to the Mariposa hotel as the brew pub is downstairs. We enjoyed a flight and talked with Tori who was very nice and explained the different beers to us. They do have music at times, but we were too early as we were there in the afternoon. We loved our visit so much we bought T-Shirts and will be wearing them when we visit craft breweries in our home state of Florida!!! See more..

We were roaming around in Yosemite and were in Wawona and missed the turn to the Pioneer Village; so we turned on the next road and followed through the backside of Wawona and through Yosemite in the Redwoods. We came upon the trailhead parking lot and parked. A very nice ride and then a very nice hike up to the first falls. This was the first time I had ever been in this part of Yosemite in the multitude of times that I have been there . Definitely a place that we will return to. See more..

St. Joseph's Catholic Church is one of several historical landmark buildings along Bullion Street in Mariposa. This is a small wooden church that was built in 1862 and included on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The church is Carpenter Gothic in style. It has a simple and attractive white exterior with a front steeple at the church entrance. There are some flowers and planted beds in front of the church as well. You can walk around the jailhouse and view its exterior architecture but it is not open for public visitation so no visits inside unfortunately. A short history is provided in front of the historic building. The Mariposa Mural is found on the side of a shop facing the south along Highway 140 between 4th and 5th Streets in the historic township of Mariposa. You can see it clearly as you enter the town from the south. This mural was created in 2008 and showcases important landmarks such as Mariposa's famous courthouse and the falls at nearby Yosemite. It also features images linking to township's history including a Native American standing in front of his tipi and a 49er panning for gold. Sections of the California State and United States flags rounds out the Mariposa Mural. Lastly, the mural includes a butterfly, which is name of the town in Spanish. This is a neat public artwork to see for those who enjoy viewing art during their travels. On the north side of town there is a much larger butterfly and flora mural that lines a west side building along Highway 140. This is also neat to see as you pass by. See more..
