Visiting Manhattan beach for a couple of weeks and was looking for something fun and healthy to fill my time (apart from walking the beautiful beach) Yoga Loft was having this newcomers sale and I thought why not. I was not disappointed! From my first practice with Lane I was welcomed with open arms and hearts and visited once or twice a day for my week. Suzie, Justin and Hannah all showed me new moves and brought a new light into my day. I thoroughly enjoyed my Yoga week and would recommend to everyone of all skill level to check them out. I used to get Crystal Microdermabrasion done and it was so harsh on my skin. Melanie uses Diamond tip Microderm and the difference is amazing- My skin isn't irritated and red. Her room is so relaxing and she really puts in the time to get those great results you would hope for when getting a facial treatment. Really like Manhattan Beach. It’s got great big clean beaches, lots of bar and restaurant options, and best of all…it has not been overrun by homeless encampment tents like some other beach areas (eg Venice Beach - which is now sadly a place to avoid). Manhattan beach is clean, upscale and awesome! We ate at Esperanza (fancy), Pancho’s (fun) , El Tarasco (take out), Pitfire pizza (good), Wild Cafe (nice) and also did Bolero Bowling (nearby fun). Finding parking in the area might be an issue, but it is worth it! This is a wonderful pier to walk out on and a decent length. You get to look up the coastline towards Santa Monica and then, on a clear day, look south towards Palos Verdes Peninsula. With the waves crashing, people surfing, others enjoying a sunny day on the beach . . all quite a magical place. There is even an aquarium at the far end of the pier. And you can watch people trying their luck at fishing. It was even featured for a sunset/evening scene in the movie La La Land recently. See more..

Manhattan Beach is very big on safety during the pandemic. Masks are required inside and outside unless your eating. Fines start at $100 and we saw two people fined, no exceptions. We felt safe as we spent four days enjoying all the sites. See more..

This tiny museum sits across from a large city park and on the main road to Manhattan Beach pier. The round building is fairly easy to spot from the road. Inside we found in June 2017 a small photo show with some excellent shots of local sights, such as the Manhattan pier. Admission is free and free parking is in the back or on the street. There are a few tables/chairs at the entry, but no gift shop or food sales within. For a cool break from the hustle and bustle of main street and the pier scene, pop into the Manhattan Beach Art Center. See more..

Full disclosure, my visit to The Comic Bug was because it was host to the "12 Sided Die" web series premiere. It is SO cool that they host events like that! Prior to the screening (which I didn't partake in) they had a couple hours of playing D&D with the cast! Such a fun thing! The owner and employees were wonderful hosts and SUPER friendly, inviting and enthusiastic! The shop itself is packed with comics, toys and games! It is very clean and inviting. Our son lives in Manhattan Beach within walking distance (although crossing Sepulveda is scary!), and we visit this Mall, every time we visit him. We've always enjoyed it, and have done some serious shopping there. Once upon a time, there was a wonderful Bullock's, where a Macy's now stands. Now, the stores are much more upscale, as are the customers. The Mall is a perfect size, where you can visit many stores, and not get tired. It is airy and welcoming. Lots of plants and seating areas. Apple is twice the size of the 2014 store, and there is a lovely working fountain in front of the indoor entrance. The new Pottery Barn store is just gorgeous. The one big issue here is parking. The lot seems huge, but it can take lots of circling to find a spot. See more..

The former Metlox Pottery grounds was converted about ten years ago to the Metlox Plaza. It is a wonderful place to sit and talk, let the kids play, have breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a huge outdoor fireplace, a water playscape, easy parking, and outdoor tables for public use. During times of the year there is also outdoor entertainment. Had to ask locals for entrance and still might have missed it since there's construction and it's along a lonely street. The garden is a very small area. The plants were a little wild and leggy as it hasn't been kept up as well as the park next door. But we enjoyed the diverse types of native plants there. Likewise, we ambled along the streets in this area, the expensive houses were all very well-maintained with small landscaped yards, lots of succulents and dought-tolerant variety of plants/shrubs.
