Labyrinth at St. Mark's-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church image
We love finding and walking labyrinths, and finding this one tucked behind so many tasting rooms and gift shops was a real treat. Adjacent the garden is a beautifully landscaped churchyard cemetery and also on the grounds is a lovely church. We love their posted welcome sign that says people of all faiths, and those with none are all welcomed there. A very peaceful place. We have also walked the labyrinth at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Cambria, which is also quite peaceful. St. Mark's is very accommodating and welcoming to out of town visitors and even leave their restrooms open for the public during the day. We had a great experience. See more..

  7. 5.0 Kahn Winery (2 reviews)
    - BEST WINES IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY
    Wineries & Vineyards
We had an unbeleivable experience at Kahn Winery in Los Olivos. The wines weree spectacular, by far the best we have had in Santa Barbara in years. They have two young owners that are very passionate about their wines and continue to amaze us every shipment we get of their wine club. We have now been back more than four times and we have joined the wine club. All I can say is that if you are ever in Santa Barbara, you have to stop in at Kahn Winery and taste some of their wines, you will not regret it. Even the Wine Spectator agrees with me. See more..

    - Great wines, great atmosphere, great service.
    Friday: 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    Carhartt Family Wines image
We were in Los Olivos several times during our stay in Santa Barbara County wine country. With so many tasting rooms in this lovely town, it is impossible to go to each one so multiple trips are necessary. It was a bit later in the day on a Sunday, but Carhartt is open a bit later than most and we were so happy that we stopped at their cabin. The wines they produce are not only among the best in Santa Barbara County but in all of California. A small family-owned winery producing an incredible 35 different wines. The staff at the Cabin were well versed in the wines. I am sorry I cannot recall the name of the gentlemen who served us, but I recall that he is an actor and was heading to LA the next day for an acting job. He could not have been more gracious, and I can state that he is a wonderful ambassador for the winery. We look forward to returning soon. See more..

    - Go for the wine, go for the view, get off the beaten path, you won’t regret it!
    Friday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    Demetria Estate Winery image
About 15 minutes outside of Los Olivos, winding roads and a hidden gem await you! Wine tastings are by appointment only so go online and book in advance. When you arrive you will have to push the call button at the gate and then a ten minute hilly and winding drive past vineyards will take you to the beautiful shaded patio at Demetria Estate Winery. Logan took great care of us and the wines were delicious- very European in style. We were able to taste both white and red varietals and all were unique and impressive. This is not a commercial, high volume winery, but rather an operation focused on quality and dedicated to biodynamic farming. The California Central Coast is one of our favorite places to visit and now we have a new favorite winery! See more..

Multiple friends had recommended stopping here during my road trip, so I made a point to stop along my way! It was such an enjoyable wine tasting! The location is a tasting room in Los Olivos which is very cozy atmosphere with a nice patio area. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and their wine making process. I loved almost all the wines I tasted and could have bought many bottles but settled on 3! Very relaxing and comfortable for a solo traveler. Would go back! See more..

  16. 4.5 Tercero Wines (27 reviews)
    - Best Wines and Even Better Entertaining
    Friday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Wineries & Vineyards
    Tercero Wines image
Larry at Tercero just makes some of the best wines that can be found in California. Period. That’s not why you should visit the tasting room though. You can buy the wines but we all go spend the weekend in Los Olivos for the whole “experience” and if you happen upon Los Olivos you have to plan to spend an hour or two in the Tercero tasting room. The staff is always fun and entertaining for all guests. I notice that a lot of locals and industry workers seem to like to stop in there which is always a good sign. This is a great experience for the people! If you want to learn they will teach you and if you are pretentious they will school you. Don’t miss out! See more..
  17. 4.5 Daniel Gehrs Wines (17 reviews)
    - Favorite tasting of the weekend
    Friday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    Daniel Gehrs Wines image
I loved this tasting room!! I bought at Imagine Wines and received a free tasting at Daniel Gehrs because of it. I'm so glad because with 55 tasting rooms I might have otherwise missed this gem! First of all, the staff was adorable, friendly, and so great to pass an hour with. Most importantly though I loved the wine! I prefer reds and love ports and I had a ton of options here! The full tasting was $10 but red white or port flights were also available for $5. I did the full and all were wonderful, but of course the best was last - the port! Perfect, perfect, perfect. The tawny port was fantastic and I was literally trying to get every last drop from my glass! Added to the great product and staff was a lovely patio and a fat house cat, Cleo. My favorite tasting of the weekend! See more..
  18. 4.5 Coquelicot Estate Vineyards (13 reviews)
    - Excellent tasting
    Friday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Coquelicot Estate Vineyards image
Coquelicot (Ko-Klee-Ko) is named after the French Red Poppy. We grow all of our own fruit. Our Vineyard and winery are both certified organic. We make natural elegant wines without any manipulation in the winery. Our focus is on Bordeaux varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. However, we do make some amazing Riesling and a Rosé of Sangiovese. Our style would be considered European, gracefully low on alcohol, well structured, with an elegant mouthfeel. The Coquelicot tasting room is located in Los Olivos. We are a unique venue with a serene outdoor courtyard, perfect for relaxing with wine and great company. If you are getting married this is a great setting for a rehearsal dinner or wedding reception. See more..

Visited here with my husband in August 2010. Female owned winery making Italian style wines. The wine was good, we took home a bottle of the Sangiovese. The woman working here was great. Good conversationalist and helped us figure out where else in town we should taste based on what kind of wine we liked. I would recommend this place. See more..
