- 5.0 Skydive Delmarva (10 reviews)
-Could not have a better first experience
Adrenaline & Extreme Tours
The employees of this operation are fantastic. Super friendly and helpful. For a potential nerve racking experience, this went super smooth. Only stress was would the sky hold out for perfect diving. My son jumped with a trained diver. Awesome guy. He told me son clearly and calmly what would happen and what he had to do. Went exactly as he said. The videographer is worth investing in. Video is great and so are still pictures. Going again in the spring for jump number 2! See more..
- 5.0 Old Christ Church, Laurel (7 reviews)
-Worth a special trip
Churches & Cathedrals
I was at Old Christ Church, Laurel two days ago for a special concert. There is not a lot to see, on one level: just the church, in a beautiful setting on the shores of Chipmans Pond. The church was built in 1771, and has never been plumbed or electrified. Delaware governor Nathaniel Mitchell, Revolutionary War veteran, is buried in the little graveyard. Inside, the acoustics for a concert or a sermon are wonderful. Also see the three story pulpit, the balcony which contains exhibits about the history of Old Christ Church, and the box pews. Open for Sunday services, first Sundays of the months June through September. Also, special holiday services, and OCC is available for weddings. http://www.dioceseofdelaware.net/old-christ-church-laurel/ See more..
- 5.0 Route 13 Outlet Market (3 reviews)
-Used book store is a treasure worth looking into
Saturday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Factory Outlets
The used book store is in the end of the mart and has a rather large area. There is also a room for children's books. I look for a few specialty areas of fiction and non fiction and have been pleased with my finds. One dollar ($1) gets the book of your choosing, from bound table top to paperbacks. They are always behind in the sorting but do try to show you where to go for your interests. Very nice folks too. As expected, I have also found some books for gifts for various interests. See more..
- 5.0 Phillips Landing Park & Monument (1 review)
-Another investment in the park
Saturday: 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM Parks
For boaters wishing to launch further down the Nanticoke or Broad Creek this is a great location. The ramps and docks have been redone again and are great for trailer boats, canoes, and kayaks. There is bank fishing, picnic areas, etc. See more..
- 4.5 The Hen House (2 reviews)
-Gift Shop, but worth a visit just to see it
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM Speciality & Gift Shops
I love gift shops, and I have been to hundreds all over the world. Yet this little shop has me coming back again and again. The atmosphere is friendly. Specialties: Delaware and Maryland gifts, things for firefighters, dog and cat lovers, candles, flags, quilted bags, jewelry, soaps and lotions. My favorite: seasonal decorations; right now of course Spring and Easter. The Hen House participates in the Strawberry Festival, which is held on the 3rd or 4th Sat. in May, next on Sat., May 18, 2013. Pick your own strawberries, home made strawberry ice cream, wagon rides. Set on the edge of a working farm. Easily accessible to all locations in western Sussex County, DE; worth a special trip from the Maryland and Delaware beaches. See more..

- 3.5 Laurel Junction (3 reviews)
-A great place to Visit!
Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops
We stopped in for gas and found that Laurel Junction contains many fun things to see. Upstairs is a huge antique shop called Seasons Best (it is where the old station 7 restaurant and bar was). It had many cool things to see and I actually found a old toy I had from my childhood! Yes I bought it!! They also had a elevator that my Mom needed so for those wondering, YES they are handicap accessible. Downstairs there was many things to see as well, a motorcycle shop, a place to get a bite of food, a pretzel shop, and many more things. See more..
