- 5.0 Wind River Climbing Guides (42 reviews)
-A great guided climbing experience
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Climbing Tours
We had a great day of climbing with Wind River Climbing Guides. This was our family's first outdoor climbing experience and we had a great time. Kyle and Kenny took us to Wild Iris and we were able to get on many routes over the course of the day. Our family of 5 has gym sport climbing experience and varying skill levels from 5.7 to 5.11 redpoints. Kyle and Kenny were able to guide us to multiple routes across that spectrum to give everyone fun challenges. I would highly recommend Wind River Climbing Guides and would climb with them again on a return trip to Lander. See more..
- 5.0 Fremont County Pioneer Museum (38 reviews)
-Worth your while to visit
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours History Museums
The Fremont County Pioneer Museum in Lander is located at the foot of the Wind River Mountains in west central Wyoming and is Wyoming's oldest history museum. Beginning in 1916 the collections of artifacts include amazing Native American collections and artifact related to the Oregon, Mormon and California Trails, gold mining, agrigulture and ranching. The Pioneer Museum hosts a number of great programs each year as part of their Discovery Speakers Series, Children's Exploration Series and the Adventure Trek Series in addition to a historic walking tour of Lander. - 5.0 Popo Agie Falls Trail (25 reviews)
-Great Hike and Beautiful Falls
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails • Waterfalls
We were visiting Lander for a wedding. One of our group was checking our hikes online and found the Popo Aggie Falls Trail and natural water slide. It was a very nice hike. It wasn’t too hard and there were not very many people at all. The water falls and views were all so beautiful. I have seen prettier falls but those were also busy. We only saw a handful of people on this hike. We made sue to hike to the natural water slide and took a slide ourselves. It was fun but the water was very cold. Felt nice to cool off but don’t stay in long. See more..

- 5.0 Wind River Shuttle (2 reviews)
-Wheels when wanted
Taxis & Shuttles • Bike Tours
Mike and Kyle were great -- on time, good safe drivers. The Chevy Suburban was a delight to ride in -- very comfortable on the dirt roads into the hills outside Lander -- especially appreciated after our 17-mile high-altitude walk out from the Cirque of the Towers! Great job, you guys -- will definitely use Wind River Shuttle again next time we're in town. See more..

Speciality & Gift Shops
We were impressed with the selection in this store. If you need any supplies, it's really a delight. Top quality gear, clothing, and supplies. Beautiful post cards and notebooks. High end outdoor clothing in a wider selection than we expected for the small size. Good local knowledge too. See more..
- 5.0 Wind River Pack Goats (2 reviews)
-Goats in the Windrivers
Sightseeing Tours
Eric and his pack goats were great, he took me and my wife for a back packing trip in the wind rivers area. We spent 4 days and three nights up there fishing and traveling through the countryside. It was a great experience and I highly recommend. Not having to carry the weight of camp and being able to each food that wasn't dehydrated was the best part. See more..
- 5.0 Upper Silas Lake (1 review)
-Wilderness
Bodies of Water
Amazing spot to set up a base camp next to the lakes inlet. Never ending fishing and located very close to at least 5 other lakes. Be sure to always bring your winter gear being that in the middle of June we experienced snow, hail and rain over a four day period. Inclement weather totaled 2 hours in a 4 day span. Access through Blue Ridge to wilderness boundary via ATV makes the short hike a fun experience especially since you have enough energy to continue on to surrounding lakes. See more..
- 4.5 Sinks Canyon State Park (298 reviews)
-State Park that is well worth the stay
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM State Parks
We were visiting Lander to attend a conference. When looking to book a room, everything was out of rooms. We chose to stay at the state park instead of doing the drive to Riverton. We got a yurt for two days. It was fabulous. The downside is that we were going to a conference for two straight days, so not having a shower was less than convenient. Luckily we had a friend who loaned us a portable shower. It slipped is to rinse out head and limbs so we were reasonably presentable to others. The park is great for hiking, biking and climbing. If you get a yurt...then it's great to just be lazy. The springtime river was a fabulous all-natural white noise machine. Too bad we had to get up in time to make it to the conference breakfast. I think this is a little known gem of a state park in Wyoming. If you enjoy the outdoors, by all means find a way there and enjoy. See more..
- 4.5 Museum of the American West (49 reviews)
-Pleasantly surprised
Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
We almost didn't go I mean we have seen so many west-themed museums on our road trip, what would a museum of local history have to offer? The answer is, "A LOT"! First we walked around the old buildings in the back and took photos. The office was closed (we were there on a Saturday) Then we went inside and decided to pay the $5 per person entry. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. This local history is the history of Native Americans and early pioneers. They have preserved what it was like to live here years ago. I highly recommend this museum to anyone who is passing through Lander! See more..
