So glad we found Snowflake Chocolates! We were on a guided tour and the tour guide brought us here. We got a tour of the kitchen, met the owner, had a ton of samples and had a blast! It is a small establishment but the amount and variety of chocolates they have in such a small place is impressive! The prices are also very good. Highly recommend stopping in. See more..

Go see this Old Red Mill and gift shop. It is so classy in an understated way. There is also a hiking path along the river that runs by it. Seriously, just walk up the path for 5 minutes for a stunning waterfall scene. Ample parking right next to the mill. See more..
  4. 4.5 Mills Riverside park (31 reviews)
    - my favorite place in the world

Locals call it the dog park, but it is a great park for just about anyone. Photographers, bird watchers, foragers, trail runners, young kids, picnickers -- just about anybody will enjoy the beauty and peace of this park (except people who are afraid of dogs!) The first part (west side) has some open fields for frisbee, football, and other sports. continue straight ahead to the south, and you will find some some trails going up a hill -- a decent challenge to run, but a pleasant walk for the whole family. But my favorite part is on the east side -- about a quarter mile in, you may take your dog off leash to run with her canine pals in fields and meadows. There is a great walking path in the off leash area as well as a swimming area for the dogs by the river. There is a fairly good dog crowd around 9:30-10:30 and again from 3:30-5:30, but anytime is a good time to come. See more..

I'm a teacher and was so excited to learn about this tiny little place as I read the book about him to my class each year. If you don't know the story, be sure to Google him; he basically offered proof of the metaphor about people being like snowflakes in that no two are exactly alike. The display was a real pleasure and the quirky and surprisingly large gift shop was too. If you have time, check out the lovely little nature area/steam behind the parking lot. All and all, a great place to visit. See more..
