  1. 5.0 Seattle Paragliding (89 reviews)
    - Surprise adventure!
    Parasailing & Paragliding
    Seattle Paragliding image
Our family was so fortunate to come upon Marc launching his students off Poo Poo point with humor and enthusiasm! What an amazing adventure -I thought enviously. We were just on an afternoon hike up to the point and when Marc offered a discount last minute sunset tandem I jumped at the opportunity. He hooked us in and we ran off the cliff and I experienced exhilaration like never before. He gave me the the controls for 80% of the time and had me land under his directions with surgical precision. (I’m a Urologist). He gave me an exuberant slap in the back and words of congratulations. He is a true professional with a comedian’s sense of humor, which sets everyone at ease. We videoed the entire adventure with his go pro and relived every moment with my family to drinks at his viewing center. I recommend Seattle Paragliding with Marc and his staff to anyone who wants the amazing rush of feeling like an eagle in flight. Thanks Marc and I’ll be back to get the full paragliding training! - Wonderful first time visit
    Monday: Theaters
    Village Theatre image
My wife and I caught the Guys and Dolls musical here a few days ago. The theater was wonderful. Smaller and more intimate than the theaters in Seattle. I couldn't see the mezzanine level, not there's not a single bad seat at the Orchestra level. The theater is not very wide, nor very deep was is great. Even with some taller people in front of us, we were able to see perfectly. Definitely, we will be back. See more..

  8. 5.0 Revolution Gallery (1 review)
    - A lovely place to shop.
Spent < 1 hour Art Galleries
Revolution Gallery is one of the shops in Gilman Village which is a small complex of shops and restaurants in Issaquah. This shop in particular appealed to me because it had a wide selection of photography, art, jewellry, cards and gifts which were mainly by local artists. Some of the work was quite stunning. There were many things to choose from and at very reasonable prices. It seemed an excellent way for local artists to showcase their work and I would definitely visit again if in the area. See more..

Every fall the salmon return to Issaquah, and so, too, do thousands of young students and visitors, who come to see these magnificent fish return from their grueling journey at sea, to fight against the current and spawn in Issaquah Creek. The Issaquah hatchery is the most visited of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife’s hatcheries, with thousands of visitors every year. As the region grapples with change to the natural environment, FISH highlights the presence of salmon in Issaquah Creek to cultivate a sense of wonder about these remarkable fish. We strive to tell the story of salmon here in such a way that fosters a natural, life-long commitment to their wellbeing, with tours, educational programs, and summer camps! “FISH champions the annual miracle of salmon in our fragile environment.” — FISH Mission See more..

My brother and I did this hike while I was visiting. The trail goes through beautiful woods, can be difficult at times. Neither of us are very “in shape” and we did the hike in about 2 hrs. Paragliders were taking off at the top. Parking lot is small. Dogs welcomed. See more..
  13. 4.5 Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park (47 reviews)
    - Wow! There is a former Nike Missile Base located just 100 yards from the parking lot
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park image
All the positive reviews are correct. This is a great park close to the city, fantastic for a day hike. But there is a hidden gem of Cold War history 100 Yard from the Sky County Trail head. Image a base of Nike Missiles located on top of Cougar Mountain protecting Seattle from airborne attack. WOW, that is what is located between Old Man's trail and Nike Horse Tail. There is no mention of this on the park maps. The Wikipedia article says the base was "obliterated" but the ghosts of the Cold War missile base are there. This is a great spot for entry level urban exploring and hiking. See more..

    Duthie Hill Park image
First time I've visited this park, I was so positively surprised and felt like a little kid on Christmas morning. While my skills are not good enough for the real cool stuff, even just the end of the base camp trail has such a nice flow that I couldn't stop riding it. Kudos to the Evergreen crew who maintains it with the help of all the volunteers. See more..
  17. 4.5 Gilman Village (6 reviews)

    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Gilman Village image
Our family loves Gilman Village, and tiny outdoor shopping center building on wooden boardwalks and consisting of vintage homes from the early 20th Century that was rescued by the village creators and moved to the spot. Great food to be had at The Boarding House, in particular, and all the shopping is great. HIGHLY recommend a stop here -- it's unlike any shopping center you've visited. See more..
  18. 4.5 Squak Mountain State Park (6 reviews)
    - Talk about Forest Primeval.
    State Parks
    Squak Mountain State Park image
We had to stop here simply because we are both from the Eastern USA and grew up in dense forests. The fact that there are a few interesting Geo Caches here was and added bonus. Relatively easy parking and not too strenous hiking paths made for a nice trip out here. Several Historical turnouts and signs along the hiking paths also. Great excursion for small kids. Bring water. See more..

We took our son here for a little post Christmas fun and enjoyed our visit. The zoo is small, it took us about an hour to see everything, but the quality of the animal exhibits made it well worth while. The tigers, wolves and reindeer were some of our favorites. The grounds are kept immaculately clean and the staff are very helpful. There is also a nice gift shop to see. See more..

Lake Sammamish State Park is a 531-acre, day-use park with 6,858 feet of waterfront on Lake Sammamish. Near the southeast end of Lake Sammamish, off of 17th Ave NW, just north of I-90, then to the west on NW Sammamish Road and into the entrance to the park (Discover Pass required, $30/year or $10/visit). This trail is quite flat and very picturesque. Where my pictures were taken were to the northwest of a large parking lot. It's also not too far from the beach and grass area of the state park. - Issaquah WA Fox Hollow Farm

    Fox Hollow Farm image
This place is an amazing farm with many holiday activities! 4 generations enjoyed the animals, patch, decorations, pony and tractor rides, kids activities. However, my daughter and I went a few years ago and at that time the price was reasonable for admission and the place was well kept! Now it is quite expensive and I feel not as charming as it once was. Getting a bit run down and dirty in the play houses. Over crowded at times as well. See more..
