    St. Anne's Shrine image
I make a pilgrimmage to St. Anne's Shrine in Isle la Motte, Vermont at least twice a year. I pray to St. Anne and ask her for certain favours especially for the health of my feet. So far so good. I thank God that I have the gift of faith. Just an added note: The cafeteria makes the best tuna sandwiches ever! See more..

We took the white blazed trail on July 28, 2012. The path is very well maintained and marked. The history provided is an incredible look at the geology of the area an can be fully appreciated by a layperson. We saw dozens of fossils in the rock at our feet. Unfortunately we arrived after the visitor center was closed, but still found the available information on the trail highly informative. If you are planning a visit to any of the Lake Champlain Islands, the Goodsell Ridge Preserve is well worth the visit. Their website is at: http://www.ilmpt.org/ilmpt/The_Goodsell_Ridge_Preserve.html See more..

    Fisk Quarry Preserve image
A woman in Burlington VT told us about this when we told her we were staying in North Hero. So cool! You can put it in your GPS as Fisk Quarry and it comes right up. The fossils are outlined with circles of rocks so you can see them and if you follow the little paths you can find them all around the little preserve. There are some informational posters there as well. It's free and a fun way to spend an hour or so! See more..

The historical society campus is open on Sat. in the summer from 1 to 4 pm. They have knowledgeable docents. I really like the 1830s Blacksmith shop and the fossils visible on the limestone exterior of the late 1800 Stone School house. See more..

Vineyard & Farm zafa wines llc – founded in 2018 by krista scruggs and located in isle la motte, vermont - has become one of the pioneers in the "new american" wine revival. making waves with our traditional methods, zafa is reframing the conversation around sustainability in wine. we ferment grapes and other fruits into sparkling wines using native fermentation and a 0/0 ethos. working with her seven-person team, krista’s already planted 2,000 vines in isle la motte. she plans to grow food, tap maples, raise livestock, and convert the farmhouse into a winery and tasting room. like zafa’s wines, everything will come from the land or the neighboring community See more..
