   On our first visit to the area, the visitor center gave us directions to this great lookout. It has an incredible view from the side of the hill. Looking down on the river below, across to the town, then to the dam and finally the lake behind . On our second visit at the end of summer we brought take out food. There are no picnic tables. We just sat at the edge of the covered area and dangled our legs over the side as we ate our lunch and enjoyed the incredible view. There is a little outhouse also. Both our visits were in the middle of the day, but I can imagine sunrise would be awesome. Also a great place to watch the light show at the dam. Worth the few minute drive off the main highway.    When I travel, one of the highlights to me at least, are the quaint, quirky things one sees along the way. This place is one of them. It is not so much a garden, as a display of collected small garden windmills. There were planters with hollyhocks at the time I was there in October, but this is more a delightful garden type windmill display than a garden itself. The gate was locked, but I was there late in the day, on a Thursday. It would make sense to lock this when no one was around to deter theft or vandalism. If you like the odd places one finds while traveling, this is worth a stop. Next to it is a small park also. See more..
