-Great Hiking
Nature & Wildlife Areas
It is easy to get lost here. Bring a map and/or keep track of your location. It's easier if you stay on the main road/trail. See more..
- 5.0 Old Mill Pond Village Shops (15 reviews)
-Fantastic shopping village
Spent 2-3 hours Speciality & Gift Shops
Old Mill Pond Village Shops is a picturesque place for shopping and browsing. They have several different shops - outdoor décor, a large gift shop, and a Christmas store. If you like to look around you will need a half hour to an hour to just get through the gift shop. They have an excellent selection of vintage (brand) candy, candles, 1980s lip glosses (that I thought were no longer made), a large section for kitchen gadgets and cooking salts/rubs, decorations, and furniture upstairs. They are open right now with social distancing guidelines applying. It's a lovely place to stop by and spend an hour or so. See more..

- 5.0 Tunxis State Forest (1 review)
-Great hiking
Forests
A great place to go for a walk, jog or a good hike. Be aware...not unusual to see some cool wildlife like a bear! See more..
- 5.0 Enders State Forest (1 review)
-Our own Niagara Falls
Forests
I really don't know how this is not more well known. It is a beautiful scenic spot with a series of 7 water falls I think. They are just beautiful. You can swim at the base of some of them. Warning though, this can be dangerous as well. Every year Life Star has to rescue 1 or more people who are perhaps being a little too adventurous, perhaps had a drink or two as well. Young kids need close supervision! See more..
- 4.5 Lost Acres Vineyard (63 reviews)
-A jazzy afternoon with wine
Thursday: Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
This is a great few-hour destination, with friendly staff and generous policies -- you can bring your own picnic and sit inside, covered outside or out on the lawn near the vineyards. On weekends, there are different entertainment groups. I went to hear a jazz combo, not quite realizing what a draw they are, and/but the ambience was great; I stood at the bar for a tasting (5 tastes for $7 including your glass), decent dry wines. When a table opened up, I ordered a cheese plate and a glass of hearty red and enjoyed the music with an appreciative (and even dancing!) crowd. I plan to organize an event there for a group of friends--it's good for couples, friends and groups. See more..
- 4.5 Enders Falls (62 reviews)
-Fantastic Find
Waterfalls
This visual treat is off the beaten path but on a main road in West Granby Connecticut. We had anticipated a much longer hike, however just off the parking lot, the trail leads only a short distance to see the river and some of the smaller falls along the path. The length of the hike and back to the parking lot takes no time at all. If you choose to stay on the well-maintained path, and get some of the views from a slight distance, this is not a rigorous activity although walking shoes/sneakers are advised. If you opt to climb down the steep rocks at the most picturesque portion of the falls, to get that “money shot “, be prepared to do a little rock climbing, jumping, shimmying along narrow ledges, etc. Great activity for all ages, Definitely worth the trip up to Granby. - 4.0 Clark Farms at Bushy Hill Orchard (8 reviews)
-Read an article on Clark Farm
Spent 1-2 hours Farms
Having moved to East Granby recently, I took a drive to find Clark Farm in Granby, after reading an ad for it. Now I am a regular on Sundays and have taken friends to breakfast too. The owners couldn't be nicer, the cider donuts are the best. The food is great and economical. There are some farm animals for the kids, you can eat inside or out on the cozy, scenic deck. The coffee is fresh brewed, hot and delicious. There is produce to pick from and ice cream, and I can't wait to check out the orchard. I love my new find and you will too! See more..
