It was dedicated in 1918 to the servicemen of Klickitat County, Washington, who died in the service of their country during the Great War; it was completed in 1929 and re-dedicated on Memorial Day of that year, when 14 local service men were honored by having their names placed on the pillars of the Memorial. Best art and vintage shop in Goldendale. The art is a selection of antique and vintage as well as a few local artists, but mainly an outlet for owner, Sandra Choate’s fiber and mosaic art. Her studio is in the back. It is usually open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 to 5, but often open other hours. If you stop by when she is not open just give her a call and she will usually come in to open up. See more..

We stayed at the Peach Beach RV park next door to here. Got to walk through this wonderful place with our dogs. Very clean, shaded, with wonderful views of river. You will get road noise because the interstate is right across the river, but we were still able to sleep fine. There are boat launches & wonderful RV spots. If you are here during fruit harvest time you MUST stop at Gunkle’s fruit stand walking distance away. I included a pic of it too. Stone Hedge War memorial & Maryhill Museum of Art are all within a few miles of here See more..

  12. 3.5 Brooks Memorial State Park (12 reviews)

    Spent 1-2 hours State Parks
    Brooks Memorial State Park image
We've camped there twice, both times in a fifth-wheel RV, most recently Memorial Day weekend in May of 2018. These sites (RV) are all far enough from highway 97 that traffic noise was not an issue. the sites themselves are adequately roomy, but not large by State Park standards. There are hiking trails and evening programs, and the campground hosts were friendly and helpful. There are full hookups, and everything worked as promised. The major negative was lack of good cell-phone service, which seems to be more important all the time. See more..
