- 5.0 Christmas Shop (12 reviews)
-A lovely shop
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops
This place is not the Christmas shop...that is next door, but you must go in! There is a lot to look at. So, here is my strategy: first lap around the shop just to look and see what there is to see. Second time around is to find the things I missed the first time, and there was plenty and the third lap through the shop was with a basket. I found a beautiful hand crafted metal sea turtle that is hanging proudly on my wall and a number of great gift items. The proprietor was friendly and helpful and the whole shop was simply a lovely place to come and find a treasure or two. See more..
- 5.0 Chalet in the Woods (11 reviews)
-Beautiful, quality clothing you'll wear year after year
Spent 1-2 hours Scenic Walking Areas
Many years ago, my husband and I began visiting the Chalet for the restorative experience and tranquil garden setting. We were primarily shopping for modern Scandinavian tableware (Iittala plates, glasses, vases etc.). Over the last 8 years we have started purchasing more and more clothing items: St. James of France and Oleana of Norway. Our wardrobes are now made up of these two clothing lines - almost exclusively. It is so refreshing to be able to purchase quality clothing that is meant to be worn over and over again and that isn't styled in such a way as to be out-moded in a year. I'm still wearing sweaters I purchased 5 or 6 years ago. It is extremely difficult to find quality clothing at any price. If you're looking for a relaxing shopping experience and clothing you'll wear year after year, stop by and see Laura. See more..

-Great Fly Shop
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Speciality & Gift Shops
We've always had nothing but 5 Star service every time we go in Gig Harbor fly shop. We started with Jake's expert instruction and as absolute novices we weren't sure what to expect but Jake really took the time to make sure we were comfortable with the basics & made it super fun! Aaron was our guide for our first ever fly fishing trip & with his exceptional knowledge and infinite patience he made the entire day awesome! Can't recommend them enough. You WON'T be disappointed! - 4.5 7 Seas Brewing (85 reviews)
-Great beer, great view
Thursday: 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM Breweries
Stopped here on our way to Seattle on the recommendation of a friend and it was a GREAT choice. We are "those parents" who take our kids to breweries rather than miss out on trying a new-to-us tap room. The Hazy IPA was great, it was a beautiful view on a beautiful day, they lit a fire pit for us to sit around, there was root beer and apple juice for our dudes (13 and 11). We bought a ton of merch to bring back with us to Texas. See more..

-Amazing brewery
Spent < 1 hour Breweries
Wonderful brewery! I have not had a single bad beer. Their limited-run coffee beer El Capitan is delicious. It's unlike any coffee infused beer you've had. I recommend the Hi Jack red ale and the Bottleman Brown. Their seasonal releases never disappoint either. See more..
- 4.5 Grandview Forest Park (5 reviews)
-Hidden Gem
Forests
I live a block away from this small forest. It's one of my favorite places to walk through. You are truly transported quickly into a lush, beautiful forest while walking on sawdust. It's peaceful and quiet and you can hear a woodpecker hard at work. There are benches placed throughout so that you can sit in solace and take advantage of this little oasis. It's small but mighty! I usually walk part of the Cushman Trail which goes right by this forest, then I walk through the forest, down to the main rain with tremendous water views of Puget Sound and then over to the quaint and charming town of Gig Harbor and around the Harbor, enjoying the majestic views of Mount Rainier, boats, boutique shops, restaurants and parks along the way. It's wonderful! See more..

If you want to Kayak, a great shortcut is launch at Raft Island private launch. You must drive back off the island, there's a little public parking area at the end of the street, which you take to get to Raft Island. Parking in the lot is by Raft Island permit only. See more..

- 2.0 BMX Park (1 review)
-Dangerous, poorly planned, no parking
Sports Complexes
We live close to the BMX park in Gig Harbor. Took my son to the park to try out his new bike. The park is designed in a dogleg direction with a number of similar "jumps" heading in a downhill direction. The first problem is the city reduced the size of the bike park to accommodate two sand pits for volleyball. This greatly decreased the area where younger kids could ride their bikes in a flat, easier area. The second problem is the people using the volleyball courts take all of the limited parking, requiring kids to weave their bikes through cars parked at weird angles. While we were there a male volleyball player yelled at every kid trying to maneuver their bikes to the track next to the cars. I'm assuming he didn't yell at my son because I was with him. The jumps are extremely steep and difficult to use unless you have a certain level of skill. There will be a number of "users" saying that unless you have skill you shouldn't be using it, but the city should be making the park usable by all levels of BMX'ers, and not just the advanced kids. Gig harbor should either fix it or bulldoze it. See more..
