   This museum is very, very small. However, they are in the process of expanding since they have received several grants. They are in the process of building a second structure to accommodate more displays. . . .at the moment there is a long stairway to get to it; I am not sure if there will be handicapped accommodations when the building is completed. There are displays of the "olden" days of Bowers Beach and videos that tell the history of the area. . . fishing, clamming, summer resort, etc. We visited on a day that they were having a hot dog fundraiser so we got some really good hot dogs on top of learning about the area.    I layed on the beach at Bowers Beach several times this past summer. It is an alternative on the bay to going all the way to Lewes or Rehoboth. It is not the nice sandy beach and you have to share the beach with fishermen but it is an alternative I use because it is only 15 minutes from home. There are no toilet facilities. There is a restaurant open during the summer and there is a place to drop your boat. See more..
