    Fernhill Wetlands Park image
My husband and I drove here for a Mother's Day stroll. I was surprised the variety of wildflowers that were in bloom. Took the opportunity to take several photo shots. Lots of ducks and nutria. Also spotted a bald eagle. A few paths are paved, but most of the walking is on gravel. It's too bad because it's noisy to walk on and it scares the wildlife. Looks like the water was extremely low in the ponds. Hopefully we get some rain soon. Plenty of parking and public restrooms. Covered area with picnic tables is available. I believe a visitor center will soon to open too? See more..

  7. 4.5 Forest Grove Farmers Market (16 reviews)
    - Great time lots to see
    Spent 2-3 hours Farmers Markets
    Forest Grove Farmers Market image
My wife and I met friends on Main Street in Forest Grove, Oregon on a Wed. Evening. There is an open market with a large assortment of vendors and food. We found dog treats, vegetables, local breads and sausages all for purchase. Audaddy's food cart and various other vendors were there offering food. Kings Head had a Biergarten outside their business to serve beer, wine and mixed drinks and you could order some of their food to be delivered. There was another shop that had wine up the street. But possibly the most entertaining was the bands around the corner across from the local brew and sake producer tents. Forest Grove Outlaws were playing when I walked up and they had people dancing in the street. Got nothing to do on a hump day evening and it's dry out??? Go down to the Forest Grove Wednesday Market! I’m not an artist. My father is. He taught art education at the university level, and worked in several types of media. I grew up around art and art galleries. This one is a gem. There is one other gallery of this caliber in cannon beach. I always love visiting when I can. But no budget to buy all the wonderful things inside. Well worth the drive from Portland. See more..

Apolloni is a quaint little treasure. The staff was very friendly and the wines are really good. This is a common theme in the North Willamette valley. Delicious wines without the pretentiousness that you find in other places. They also had a small offering of cheese, meats, and crackers in the tasting room to sample. You don’t find this everywhere and it was appreciated. Enjoy a glass of Pinot and play a game of bocce right outside. You will be happy that you stopped here. See more..

    - Quiet neighborhood park with variety of things to see and do
Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
Tallest barber pole in the world is located in this park. A local resident explained to me where to find it, and I took a nice stroll down a paved bike path to the location. I enjoyed watching both adults and children on bicycles riding up and down various dirt hills. Is this an Oregon thing? I've not seen this in parks in any other city. This park, as well as others I've passed in Oregon, contains a skateboard park. I haven't seen this back in NJ either. See more..

We have gone for several years. You have to go with a plan. Go early and have someone go in the sausage to go line and someone go in the dinner ticket line. While you are waiting for your dinner ticket to be called go into the hall that sells pastries and handy crafts. Walk around and tour the church and soon you will be ready to eat. They have takeout for those that don't want to wait. See more..
