  1. 5.0 Butternut Farm (1 review)
    - GOATS + FALL APPLE PICKING & SUMMER BERRY & PEACH PICKING

The Butternut Farm is great place for fall apple-picking and visiting the farm’s goats. And, with The Butternut Farm Cider House on the same property, it’s a great place to buy some apple cider and/or apple cider donuts. In the summer, the farm features pick-your-own blueberries, raspberries, and peaches. The farm grows several varieties of each fruit. On the fall weekday I visited, a lot of people were there. Some were picking apples; some were visiting the animals; but, most were at the Cider House where I went first. Next. I went to the goat pen. The goats loved climbing on the big boulders. They certainly are climbers. They enjoyed performing their feats of climbing on the craggy boulders for the crowd gathered around their pen. Then, I walked all around the orchards. I found two big Hampshire apples that looked really good. They resembled the Macintosh variety. At the farm’s pay station, I was allowed to buy just the two. They were sold by weight at $1.79/lb. It was $2.06. I leaned that the Hampshire apple came about by happenstance in an orchard in Hopkinton, NH. It bred itself. At home, I enjoyed the apples. Much like Macintosh, they had a firm, crisp texture; and, they were juicy. They were a delicious taste of fall flavor. I’ll definitely go back for more apples in the coming fall. I rate the Butternut Farm at 5.0 and highly recommend a visit. The reason for the delay in submitting this review was due to a months-long loss of my ability to post photos with my reviews. 2. 4.0 The Butternut Farm Cider House (1 review)
    - HARD APPLE CIDER & APPLE CIDER DONUTS
    Farms
The Butternut Farm Cider House image
The Butternut Farm Cider House crafts its hard cider onsite in small batches. On the fall weekday I visited, a lot of people were there. I went to get a bag of two apple cider donuts at $3.00. Many people were already lined up. Trays of the donuts came out of the kitchen which was visible through an open doorway. After making my purchase, I looked around at the other offerings on shelves along the outside walls. There was BBQ sauce, local maple syrup, local honey, hand-made soap, jam, maple apple butter, salsa, and more. Then, I visited The Butternut Farm's orchards, farm store, and the animals which are all on the same property with the cider house. At home, I enjoyed the apple cider donuts. They were delicious. I really liked the flavor and slightly cakey texture of them. I rate my experience with The Butternut Farm Cider House at 4.5 and recommend a visit.
