- 5.0 McKenzie River National Recreation Trail (77 reviews)
-Great Family Hike
Hiking Trails
McKenzie River National Recreation Trail is one of my favorite hikes. It is a great easy hike for families. This past week I started thursday early morning (6:30 am) at Paradise Campground. What is different now from past hikes are the number of bikers. All bikers were polite and shred the trail. I noticed no litter on the trail. The trail seems to have escaped the fires, wind storms and weather hazards. The trail follows the Mc Kenzie River and you will find lots of camera opportunities. Rafters are frequent and love to be shouted at and waved to. See more..
- 5.0 Spencer Butte (64 reviews)
-Beautiful View - no hiking required
Parks
Since most reviews talk about the hike to get here, I just want to assure you that you can drive to the top. There's usually plenty of parking and there is a wonderful, large viewing platform with a picnic table. It's a great place to photograph sunrises, sunsets, and moonrises. My first trip to the Butte was for a Super Moon viewing that wasn't - it was too cloudy to see the moon rise, but I was introduced my sweetheart, so it ended up being the perfect evening! See more..

- 4.5 King Estate Winery (386 reviews)
-Fortuitous GPS glitch
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
Fortuitous GPS glitch while seeking directions from Florence to Cresswell led us by this impressive winery. We were ready to stretch our legs, so we decided to stop in, and stayed for dinner in their restaurant. The founder and current owners (the King Family) have developed, improved and maintained a marvelous vineyard and winery, well worth visiting if anywhere in the Eugene area. We had a wonderful bottle of Tempranillo during our dinner. We plan to make a special trip from Southern Oregon to visit this place again with friends. See more..

- 4.5 Eugene Saturday Market (277 reviews)
-Fun With My son, Who Just Moved to Eugene

Open Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, April through November. Each Saturday Lane County's favorite artisans, chefs and musicians bring their creations to Saturday Market, Eugene's weekly open-air Marketplace, creating a vibrant event that nurtures local commerce and community. Founded in May of 1970, Eugene's Saturday Market is Oregon's original Saturday Market, and the oldest weekly open-air crafts festival in the United States. Wander among the 200 booths filled with fine handcrafts, always sold by the artisans themselves. The International Food Court features fifteen food booths serving a wide array of foods prepared fresh on site, for every meal of the day. The Market Stage showcases local and regional musicians, performing live all day long. Two nearby parking structures provide plenty of free parking, and the area is fully wheelchair accessible. - 4.5 Hayward Field (238 reviews)
-The New Hayward Field is awesome
Arenas & Stadiums
We came to Eugene this July for the 2022 World Athletics Championships. The new Hayward Field (Tripadvisor's website needs new photos as the old facility is pictured) is an awesome venue for track & field. I can't think of any place better to watch T&F. The permanent seating is comfortable with cushioned seats and backrest (I'm glad I didn't pay for tickets in the temporary seating area which are bleachers only). The sightlines are great and the Jumbotron lets you see the action when it is on the other side of the track. The meet organization was terrific with lots of volunteers to assist fans. Of course, the competition was A+. I look forward to returning to Eugene and Hayward Field for future world-class competitions. The one thing Eugene needs to support events like this is more hotel rooms. See more..

- 4.5 Hendricks Park (187 reviews)
-Still the premier park in Eugene for gardeners and horticulturalists
Parks
A hillside park which has been lovingly developed over many years. Its plant collection is perhaps the most extensive in the state. There are rhododendrons there I have not seen anywhere else. The only garden that compares to this I have seen is the gardens at Broddick Castle on Mull in Scotland. We visited Hendricks in January and still found several plants blooming. There are a maze of trails covering two hillsides. The park is loved by both locals and visitors. You also get a good workout on the many trails. See more..

- 4.5 Owen Rose Garden (166 reviews)
-Don't miss the star of this show
Sunday: 6:00 AM - 1:00 AM Gardens
Yes, a lovely garden, but you simply cannot miss the Owen Cherry Tree. The first major industry in this area was fruit processing," The (Owen cherry) tree is very close to where the original Eugene Fruit Growers Association was located. That's a big, important deal down here. When this tree blooms, it is better than a fireworks show! See more..

- 4.5 The Better Living Room by Ninkasi Brewing (127 reviews)
-Attention all Ninkasi fans. You need to come visit the mothership. All good here!
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM Breweries
All my favorite breweries and nowhere near where I live so when something comes up and I get to visit one I am generally on it. Ninkasi is one of the last few of these Mecca’s I had failed to visit to this point. Their restaurant is a block over from their brewery. Because of COVID they have you order through the Q code and your phone, very simple. We talked to a waitress and she recommended the burger which we both had. Gotta tell you it was one of the best burgers I ever had. The restaurant inside kinda mat he’s the eclectic town it resides in. Can’t explain just a cool vibe inside. The food was phenomenal the beer speaks for itself no the service was great. Also had the bourbon ala mode, wings and this great popcorn. If you are a Ninkasi fan and I know there is a lot of you out there you have to come visit the mothership. you will not be disappointed in the least. See more..

- 4.5 Skinner Butte Park (114 reviews)
-Fun and memorable
Parks
I love the historical parts of this Butte. I love seeing the mansion, and the drive up, getting out for the views... and I love the park nearby as it has interesting playground equipment which is a rarity these days. There is a whale the kids can climb on and inside of... and it is painted pretty colors. I love the swings and the interesting little log cabin. The trails in the park were amazing to walk and our children used their scooters and skateboards for nice long sections. The river next to the park is of course gorgeous. See more..

- 4.5 Sarver Winery (57 reviews)
-good wine, excellent views, worth the trip
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
...or maybe it's excellent wine and good views. Either way, this little hidden away place is a find worth the trip. The staff is family; most everyone who works here is related and they are all very welcoming. The wine is good; some of it is excellent, depending on what you like. They offer estate-grown Pinot Gris (barrel-aged) and Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, plus more. In addition, they offer (you can buy, that is) plates of salamis, patés, and freshly baked baguettes for a reasonable price. You may bring your own picnic and buy their wine to accompany it. Their tasting room is small but comfortable, and can accommodate around 40 people. Outside is a fire pit and a lovely view of the valley. This place feels like a local watering hole, as many of the same folks show up regularly, mingle among themselves and party. It feels like the antithesis of posh King Estate Winery. Yet, we like King Estate too; it's nice to have a choice. See more..

- 4.5 LaVelle Vineyards (25 reviews)
-Worth the drive.
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
Since vineyards are all in the country and scattered about, you generally have to pick and choose what ones you can make it to on a given day. LaVelle is worth putting on your route. We arrived late in the day, cutting it close to closing, but were given a friendly greeting and were not rushed during our tasting. I prefer sweet wines and their Autumn Nectar is amazing. We were the only customers at the time, and the woman working gave us her full attention and made us feel welcome. See more..
