  1. 5.0 Dawson Pass and Pitamakan Pass Loop (13 reviews)
    - Best hike in Glacier !
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails
Dawson Pass and Pitamakan Pass Loop image
Easy to do in a single day. Don't worry about taking the boat - it only cuts off a flat easy section. We cruised up to Dawson Pass and saw Big Horned Sheep on the way. At the top of Dawson Pass the views are incredible and every turn yields a different view that is equally as awesome as the one before. Beautiful lakes on the way, including a short extra jaunt to Old Man Lake. The trail is easy to follow, not very crowded and incredibly scenic. See more..
  2. 5.0 Sun Point Nature Trail (8 reviews)
    - Easy loop trail
Spent < 1 hour Hiking Trails
    Sun Point Nature Trail image
This is an easy .9 mile loop that can be accessed from the parking lot at Sun Point, on the western end of Lake Saint Mary. The elevation change is not great and the trail; while made of packed dirt, is in good condition. Smoke/haze from western fires made for poor picture quality, but it was still very beautiful. 3. 5.0 Glacier Park Trading (1 review)
    - Great little Store!
    Speciality & Gift Shops
We went several times for snacks, gifts, etc. Very helpful staff, neat, rustic, local flavor type of store for groceries, wine, books. Our luggage was lost from our flight, and we were able to get all our necessities here, great experience! See more..
  4. 4.5 Aster Falls (83 reviews)
    - Great hike..go to top for superb view of Two Medicine Lake
    Waterfalls
    Aster Falls image
This is a great family hike, with meadows and ponds (might see a Moose with calves if you are lucky), streams and waterfalls, and at the peak a great view of Two Med Lake. The whole hike, with time for lunch and playing around the waterfalls, was about 2-2.5 hours. The switchback to the top has a moderate elevation change (about 700' over the last 20 minutes), otherwise its an easy hike. Take time to play around the waterfalls and look for wildlife in the meadows. See more..
  5. 4.5 Glacier Gateway Outfitters (46 reviews)
    - Excellent Horseback Ride
    Speciality & Gift Shops
    Glacier Gateway Outfitters image
We often go horseback riding when we visit a National Park. Glacier Gateway Outfitters was one of the best rides that we have experienced. The horses were all very calm and gentle, well trained, and very well mannered. Bob, our guide who led the trip, was very friendly, knowledgeable, informative and entertaining. Bob and the other guides were all very professional and courteous. The asked and remembered everyone's name and frequently checked on everyone throughout the trip. Together, they made the trip very enjoyable. Finally, the scenery was beautiful. During the 2 hour tour we rode to the top of a large hill where we had amazing views in every direction. See more..
  6. 4.5 Scenic Point Trail (36 reviews)
    - Moon rates this as one of the best day hikes in the park
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails
    Scenic Point Trail image
Moon's 2017 "Glacier National Park" says this is one of the best day hikes in Glacier. A fairly difficult hike of 3.7 miles in each direction with a vertical rise of 2124'. Excellent lake views from up on top. It took me about 2 hours of steady climbing to reach the summit. Very windy on top with no cover. Be sure to bring a windbreaker. On the day that I did the hike, a number of hikers thought that they had reached the summit but were actually about .5 mile short. Keep on the track until you come to a tiny metal sign that says "scenic point" and an arrow pointing to a summit a couple of hundred yards from the sign. See more..
  7. 4.5 Glacier National Park Sun Tours (14 reviews)

Glacier National Park Sun Tours image
Kevin was a great tour guide and driver. We so enjoyed his sharing of his culture along with the tour. We enjoyed the music and singing. It sent the tour over the top!! We didn’t know we were going to be blessed with this history lesson today! See more..
  8. 4.5 Swiftcurrent Lake Nature Trail (3 reviews)
    - Beautiful relaxing trail.

    Swiftcurrent Lake Nature Trail image
This is such a beautiful trail to hike that is very flat and wide and very steady stepping for my senior body. Very easy and relaxing to do this trail. It does go around the complete lake which isn't that far distance wise. So pretty with benches along the way to sit and enjoy the beautiful never ending views. See more..
  9. 4.0 Marias Pass Obelisk (10 reviews)
    - More than just a rest stop~
    Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
    Marias Pass Obelisk image
While this surly serves a great rest stop with beautiful views, the historical importance should not be overlooked. In addition to marking the Continental Divide and the Marias Pass' elevation of 5213' (1589 m), it pays homage to John E. Stevens the civil engineer for Great Northern Railroad. The railroad opened rail service to the west coast and there is a large statue of Stevens at the base of the obelisk. There are two other plaques, one for William Morrison who had squatter rights to 100 acres at the summit. The second is dedicated to President Theodore Roosevelt who created the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Across from the obelisk, on the opposite side of the parking lot, there are two large displays with maps and more history about the area and the local Native American tribes. Worth a few minutes if you have the time. See more..
