- 5.0 Opal Creek Wilderness Area (12 reviews)
-Nice hike to Opal Pool and Jawbone Flats
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails • Forests
This is a nice 7 mile round trip hike. From the trailhead hike about 2 miles and you will see the rusting machinery from the Merten Mill. Another 0.2 miles, there will be a fork where you want to go right to cross the bridge and continue on the trail left along the river. Hike another mile to the Opal Pool. Just beyond you will see a bridge that crosses towards Jawbone Flats where you can rent cabins to stay. From there just hike the main road back to the parking lot. See more..

- 4.0 Detroit Dam and Lake (2 reviews)
-Very impressive
Points of Interest & Landmarks
This dam allows one to walk or drive across its top and the view is totally spectacular. You can look over the edge behind a railing and peer all the way down to the bottom and the gorge beyond. There is no hiking involved and it's only a short walk out to the best viewing point. Well worth a stop. See more..
- 3.0 Detroit Lake Marina (7 reviews)
-boat and jet ski rental
Gear Rentals
high priced for jet ski rental but so worth it, the lake is amazing! Especially this year with the water level being so high! The water is warm enough to swim comfortably and the campsite around the lake are amazing, I especially like Southshore campground. There is so much to see on the water. The boat rentals were good prices if you have a group to split the cost. The Marina shop is really nice and the employees are very friendly and accommodating. See more..
