    Christ Episcopal Church image
For over 180 years, Christ Episcopal parish and Church has been a main feature along the wide avenues of Delaware City, and now is part of the 250+ structures in the nationally registered historic district. The distinctive white building is sitting on a large lot contrasts with the brick and wood Victorian homes in the area. One of those brick homes, directly behind the church, is the rectory. The historic plaque says the church was designed based on the Floating Church of the Redeemer in Philadelphia, which was constructed of wood in the Rural Gothic style. It's interesting that one building can not only represent the history of the town but of the Episcopal Church in this maritime region. See more..

  7. 4.0 Chespeake & Delaware Branch Canal (12 reviews)
    - The mike castle trail
    Bodies of Water
Chespeake & Delaware Branch Canal image
All in all this is become a beautiful trail system with a couple of easy hook ups you can do a bunch of different things. If you decide to park in Delaware city and ride out you can ride all the way out to the North Shore of Chesapeake city. That route is paved until the Maryland line, then it turns into hard packed dirt. The route is August entirely flat and very easy to follow. However if you wish to explore Chesapeake city as you go out the route there is a way to access the route 13 bridge with its bike lane crossover the route 13 bridge and take the south bank of the canal all the way out to Chesapeake city. This out and back is roughly of about 30 miles, but that is all flat riding and very beautiful scenery. While you are in Delaware city you also have access to fort Delaware which is absolutely an amazing trip by itself. See more..
  8. 3.5 Fort DuPont State Park (14 reviews)

    Fort DuPont State Park image
Very cool place for what it is - not very big and an easy walk. Great location on the river. The batteries were pretty cool - but definitely lacking information. Signs about what happened there and what it looked like would have been nice. The buildings riding to it were pretty neat and again some more signs with history of them would have been great. The bugs were definitely annoying - but that’s nature. They could have kept the port a John a lot cleaner. See more..

    Ghost Hunts USA image
This was my second tour of the Missouri State Penitentiary with Ghost Hunts USA. I was very let down. The group leaders provided very little energy, had little to NO info on the history of the institution and did not take us deep into the facility like they did the first time. Seemed a bit unorganized as well. I love this tour, and will give it another try, hopefully the leaders will get some experience under their belts as most were quiet, and had only been with Ghost Hunts USA for a year. Also I bought 4 tickets and due to a family emergency, could only use 3. They were absolutely non responsive to emails asking for a refund of that 1 ticket. See more..
