As far as libraries go, this is a pretty small fish; it's hard to find a smaller library anywhere but there is more here than the building! Outside is a retaining wall with history and character. This is a small shop right in the heart of Del Mar about a block from the beach. It's stuffed with some really amazing western wear, the coolest shirts, leather jackets, western hats, all brands of boots, spectacular jewelerly and gifts. Everything in the store is hand selected by the owner who is the sharpest, super nice and funny lady. I keep coming back and finding more great things everytime. Unfortunately, the shirts and jackets I get there by Ryan Michael are pretty expensive. Definitely a place people with western inclination should stop by. And there's a great new smoothie, etc. place just opened next door. And there are some other really fun stores next door and one of the best breakfast and lunch spots in Del Mar called Americana adjacent. See more..

Sky Deck is located in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center. Constructed during the pandemic and finally opening its doors June 2021. Some say it has a Barcelona-Style restaurant vibe but I agree with the architect who created it with a maritime industrial design, this you see in the details rather than looking at the place as a whole. Sky deck offers nine restaurants and a central cocktail bar. The restaurants include; Ambrogio15 - Offers a unique style of Milano Pizza Craft House - Modern American Glass House - Asian coastal inspired kitchen Understory - Sky Decks Central cocktail bar Kiin - Thai food feat. original recipes from Thailand Le Parfait Paris - French savoir-Faire Marufuku Ramen - Hakata-style Tonkotsu ramen Zizikis Street Food - Modern Greek street food. The deck features 3 Breweries; Northern Pine Brewing, Rough Draft Brewing, and Boochcraft Kombucha. This is an excellent coffeehouse for original music by talented singer-songwriters. The coffee is really good, too! You can sit outside and sip your coffee with an ocean view. The owners, Laura and Liam, are super nice and have really talented folks booked for evening shows. There is no venue like it in San Diego in terms of sound quality and comfort for a live show. If you happen to be visiting downtown Del Mar, you are lucky this is nearby! It's a very walkable community, and there's also plenty of parking nearby on residential streets. The upper level is dedicated to gifts, crafts, clothing, and (in general) non-edibles. There weren't too many tents and vendors offering their wares while we were there in April. Walk down the parking structure stairs to the lower level which translates to food court paradise. A "buskar" (performer for your donations) put on a wonderful musical show on his bicycle-adapted keyboard. He was quite good. We perused the food court offerings, gathering ideas for the night's dinner, and settled on Malaysian chicken, potato, and seasonings stuffed inside pancakes and also for the Mexican handmade tortillas made into quesadillas stuffed with chicken or shrimp and a bunch of other yummy extras (sauteed onions, green and yellow peppers, and some exceptional white cheese). Some of these vendors are restauranteurs (7+ years) who decided to sell the brick and mortar shops and do this gig. This was authentic stuff. As for prices, the Malaysian treat (comes with chili sauce) cost $10 and the quesadillas were $8 each ($1 more for avocado). All in all, not too badly priced for some really great totally ethnic eats that we would not be able to find locally. The hours are 1-4 PM on Saturday. The location is at the new Del Mar City Hall. Avoid the Medici Gallery in Del Mar. We purchased what we were told is a "original, signed Chagall lithograph" to later discover that it was nothing more than a poster. Owner refuses to allow return of artwork and give us a refund. Upon further research we discover that the shop has been sued for selling fake art. Buyer beware! They have high pressure sales people and most likely we have not been the only ones who have been ripped off. Purchase your art from a reputable gallery and seek out reviews of the gallery and research the art before you buy -- unfortunately we were newbies in the art world; and we were scammed!!
