Highly recommend a visit to the Yellowstone Trading Post before fighting the crowds in the national park for higher priced items. Good selection, fair prices, greater variety. There is a nice wildlife museum section for anyone to get a good look up close to the wide variety of wildlife to be seen in the area. Really good for younger kids to see. No charge, just an extension of the store. Very friendly service and good vibe. Great place to secure gifts and/or memory items from your visit. A Cooke City must if in town, just pop in and browse! This is a beautifully done museum - it's free - and it's well worth stopping for. All ages will enjoy it. It's small and can be seen in under 1 hour giving you a real glimpse into the history of Cookie City and the north Yellowstone region. Plus it has wifi and a nice, clean bathroom, maps you can pick up and a little outdoor exhibit area that makes for neat photo ops. See more..

Clay Butte Fire Lookout Tower image
On our way to Beartooth pass , we saw this firetower WAAAAY up on the mountain top...I'm sooo glad we turned in to check it out. Its a fairly good climb, probably 2!/2 miles and steep in some places , but on a well maintained road. Arriving at the tower your greeted with on of the most awesome nearly 300 degree view that you have ever seen , simply amazing site. We missed it but ppl told us earlier in the day a couple grizzlies and a herd of about 70 elk passed by on the ridge just above the tower .. Picture can't capture what you can see See more..
  8. 4.5 F.J. Williams Primitive Western Art Gallery (2 reviews)
    - Mr. Williams is quite a eccentric person that you have to meet.
Spent < 1 hour Art Galleries
I've been to his house/studio 5 times and came away with one or two items (all I could afford at the time) and we loved the experience. This was in the 1975-1982 era. When my wife and I divorced one our biggest arguments was over Mr. Williams art. I only got one. I'll send a picture at later date. Joseph Jackson, Cincinnati Ohio See more..
