- 5.0 Selden III (17 reviews)
-Selden III is the name of the nine-car ferry that crosses the Conn River between Hadlyme & Chester
Ferries
This is the best deal in Conn. It's a 5-10 min ferry ride with a beautiful view of the Conn River and Gillette Castle for only $3 per car. When you get to the Hadlyme side, drive 2 miles up Rt 148 to the Hadlyme General Store -- a real New England general store -- for great sandwiches and pastries. The ferry only runs from April 1 to Nov 30. See more..

- 5.0 Cockaponset State Forest (1 review)
-Hiking, Swimming & Fishing
Forests
This is a massive forest that goes through multiple towns! Lots of trails to hike on and Pattaconk Lake is great for fishing (the lake is stocked each spring for opening day of fishing). There is a nice beach area and small pier for swimming, just be careful near the dam/waterfall area. It's also nice for kayaking, just be aware that you will need to walk the kayaks from the parking area (not too far) - there is no boat launch. Common place for picnics and dog walking as well. - 4.0 The Little House Brewing Co (7 reviews)
-Our new brewery home
Breweries
What a cool, relaxing and quaint brewery. Right in the center of Chester, which is a gem in itself, is LHBC and so glad we found it. Super friendly staff (Sam, Gabriel and Carlisle) made us feel welcome and very enthusiastic to tell us their story and about their beer. I hate to post this because I want to keep it to myself so it doesn't get too busy but that wouldn't nice of me. Go visit and support this fantastic business along with all the others in Chester center. CHEERS! See more..
