    Farms
    Hackleboro Orchards image
I can't believe I am the first to review this! This working farm/orchard is open from late August through Thanksgiving. We go every year to pick up a supply of apples, but there are fresh veggies there too, and of course Maple Syrup, and Honey. Its a bit off the main drag (4 miles off Route 93 Exit 18), but worthwhile. The BEST apples, Cortlands, Honeycrisp, Northern Spy. Large picnic area, baby goats, hayride, You-pick blueberries and apples, or buy from the farm store. The farm covers the top of a large hill. Take this "New England" farm experience home with you. Although you will be driving about 4 miles in the country, they have the roads marked well with their "Red Apple" signs. See more..

  5. 4.0 Canterbury Woods Country Club (7 reviews)
    - Tough Mountain Course with many Great Holes
Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
First time playing here and I loved this course, even though it beat me up. The par Threes are down hill fun holes. Almost got a hole in one. Par Fives are fair. There are a number of forced carries off the tee and several lay up forced carry second shots. Lots of short par Fours straight up a hill which play at least another hundred yards longer. Being a mountain course, I may not have had one flat lie. If you play here be ready to play with the ball extremely above or below your feet. Course was in magnificent condition, greens were perfect, pace of play on a Thursday was under four hours, vistas and views were incredible, what is not to like. Price on a Thursday was reasonable. 6. 2.5 Canterbury Rest Area (3 reviews)
    - Great Rest Stop With Well-Informed Staff
Spent < 1 hour Visitor Centers
This well-shaded, clean, and rural rest area on I-93 northbound was a pleasant stop. Its restrooms were clean. Its vending machines worked. The rest stop had separate parking by types of vehicles. It also had picnic tables and abundant tourist materials, including free state roadmaps. I welcomed all that I found here. From a well-informed attendant, I learned that a traffic jam awaited me 7 miles (11.3 km) to the north. I was able to consult the state map and avoid most of it! See more..
