Taste of Soul by Ms Nancy image
Reviewing the restaurant. Maybe the best oxtail I ever had, unbelievably tender. The pineapple jerk chicken was also great, cooked perfectly. The sides, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese and plantains were great. Our friends are veggies and they loved the collard greens. The biggest problem was that the servings were huge and we're going to be eating this stuff all week. See more..

    Third State Brewery image
Third State is a cute craft brew spot. The owners are great! We enjoyed several savory beers as we played vinyl records reminiscent of our college days! I suggest getting flights as there are so many beers to choose from. Burlington Running Club meets at Third State every Thursday. I know a few people that belong, unfortunately I don't live close enough to join them. But I do live close enough to go "tasting" every now and then. See more..

My boyfriend and I recently visited this store and had so much fun! I love antique and bargain shopping so this place was perfect for us! Price range varied from expensive items to 2 dollars pieces but most everything in there is a bargain. There were some handmade gifts in there too. So cute! It’s the perfect place if you need to decorate your house or buy a gift for a friend. See more..

GREAT FOOD!!! Very reasonable. Their sandwiches are huge, wings are good, and the beer is always ice cold. Try one of the Irish Dinners--Phenomenal. Also-the people that work there are really nice. This place might be hidden on a little side street but you won't find a better place anywhere near Burlington. See more..
  9. 4.5 Philip's Furniture and Antiques (3 reviews)
    - Great find....
Spent < 1 hour Antique Shops
    Philip's Furniture and Antiques image
While exploring downtown Burlington with family; found this shop, and enjoyed the exploration of it. Set in an old-school commercial building; it seemed a perfect environment for the selection of items within. There was a nice variety of items to browse and explore; from furniture to smaller offerings. I found a beautiful ABP cut glass bowl, at a very reasonable price (even considering today's depressed market for these under-appreciated works of craftsmanship and artistry). The proprietor was friendly and attentive. All and all, a great place to enjoy indulging the "hunt". See more..

    James Fenimore Cooper House image
It is truly exciting to see this house during the walking tour of the historic Burlington. The house was built in !8th century and became the homestead of a large family whose 11th child was James Fenimore Cooper the author of The Last of the Mohicans. The house belongs to Burlington County Historical Society. There are apparently guided tours available but not at the time of our visit. See more..
  11. 4.0 General Grant House (3 reviews)
    - Forgotten history...
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites
    General Grant House image
Most people are not aware that during the Civil War, General Ulysses S. Grant moved his wife and children here to get them away from the fighting in the south. After the surrender of Appomattox, General Grant begged off going to Ford's Theater with President and Mary Lincoln so that he could get back to Burlington to see his children (his wife, Julia, was with him). On April 14, 1865, he got as far as Philadelphia by train, before learning that Abraham Lincoln had been shot. He continued on to Burlington, left Julia at this home on Wood Street, before returning to Washington, DC the next day. General Grant did not spend much time here and I am not sure how long after the Civil War his family remained living here. But it is interesting to know that this house on this small, quiet street played a part in the history of this time. THIS IS A PRIVATE HOME! Please observe from the street and/or sidewalk. Do not go into the yard or knock on the door. See more..

This was a very clean and proffessional space I went here for a friends event and was blown away by not only the decor but the overall service that we revieved since we walked through the door. The music was loud for the party and even more fun for us in the party. Great experience 10/10 would do again See more..
