- 5.0 Mendenhall's Museum (26 reviews)
-Hidden Gem
Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
This museum is by appointment only. We called around 10am and was told by the owner to come by noon the same day. Admission is $15/adult & $5/child. When we get there the gate was locked but opened immediately by Misty, owners daughter. The collection is amazing and in perfect condition. All area of the house/museum is clean considering the massice collection. Misty is very knowledgeable, funny and answered all our questions. She was very thorough and even took us to the kitchen and took our pictures on all the interesting spot. The tour lasted 1.5 hours. If you're interested in auto history, racing and gas station memorabilia this is a must see, highly recommend. See more..

- 5.0 The Creation Station Fabric and Quilt Shop (19 reviews)
-Don't let the name fool you!
Friday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums
The Creation Station Fabric and Quilt Shop is a must stop for everyone. This is an AMAZING place that goes WAY beyond a fabric store and is a must see. The quilts are displayed among antique beds, a 100 year old crib, hairdryers from the 50s, and lots of furniture. There are ladders hanging from the ceiling, and there is a huge collections of sprinklers. I know it sounds strange, but once you see it, you'll know why its so cool! The walls are fashioned after country rooms with antique appliances that belong to grandma. Sometimes there is a line for the bathroom, because people have to see it! It has hanging wisteria, and hand painted poetry! They have a long arm right out front so you can see how quilts are finished. VERY inspiring and very educational. See more..

- 4.5 Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. (35 reviews)
-We needed a break from the grapes!
Friday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Breweries
We were in wine growing region outside of Santa Barbara for a two day tasting trip. Mid day on the second day, we decided we needed a break from grapes and headed to this brewery that came highly recommended. The bar/seating are was pretty cool as the working brewery is in full view and the brewmasters and working right in front of you. They offer a large range of beers including the one I had to try, just based upon the name. Try to guess which one??? BTW, the food looked very good even though we were too full of Ellen's pancake from breakfast... See more..

- 4.5 Loring Wine Company (12 reviews)
-Great Pinots and a "do not miss" tasting experience
Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops
I have long been a lover of Loring wines and for the last couple years, have been a wine club subscriber. This producer features non manipulated wines from some of the best vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands and the Santa Rita Hills as well as the greater Santa Barbara area. The wines are fruity, forward and eminently food friendly and best of all, everything comes with a screw top so no pesty corks to mess things up. There are two women that work there that definately make the experience all the better; April and Brittany. Both are extremely versed in their wines and April has developed a "cookie tasting" that is unique and very complementary to the flavoor profiles of Loring's wines. Thanks to all who work at the winery and the tasting room and if you are in the area, make Loring a must visit spot! See more..
