  1. 5.0 The Adventure Park at The Discovery Museum (402 reviews)
    - Great Courses/ Compassionate Staff
Temporarily closed - Closed until Mar 31, 2023 Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
The Adventure Park at The Discovery Museum image
Great ropes courses for a variety of ability levels: we had a blast! But above & beyond the fun, the customer service from the staff made for a very special day. I went with my adventurous 10 year old (off like a shot) & my slightly more careful 8 year old. After starting a course with my 8 y/o, one of the elements was just too scary for her & a staff member came to help her down. They were wonderfully kind & praised her for coming as far as she did. After she came down, the park manager, who'd seen what had happened, did the same & then showed her other courses she might want to try instead. After successfully completing one of those, she had the confidence to try the "scary" course again & it was her favorite of the day. It was such a fun, exciting day, but she also learned a lot about herself & facing fears & honoring her own "I'm not ready for this," too. See more..

  4. 5.0 Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater (1 review)
    - Great Concert space!
    Spent 2-3 hours Theaters
    Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater image
What a great place to see a show! Happy to see a new venue in Connecticut. This is the site of the old Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Saw a great Van Morrison concert here and looking forward to upcoming shows. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, pro tip would be to Uber from somewhere else. They do have a parking structure adjacent to the venue. Was a bit hectic leaving. As we were on the top level, we simply waited for about 30 mins after getting to the car and skipped the long and slow drive out. See more..

HOW THE PAST CAN COMPLEMENT THE PRESENT: With a broad spectrum of antiquities and art from many eras and cultures, see how the offerings of the past can complement the present. This is shown by combining antiques and art from past eras and cultures with modern design, allowing the history of the past not to be forgotten but to enhance the present, lest we forget. See more..
  6. 5.0 The Bijou Theater (1 review)
    - Romantic Night Out at a Quaint Theater
    Theaters
    The Bijou Theater image
We decided to go out to the Bijou Theater to see a Beatles Tribute Band called The Hofners. The theater is small and intimate. They have movie theater type sitting where if you purchase tickets for that section, it is first come first serve as far as where you sit. We chose table seats and had high top tables and bar stool chairs. The Theater is pretty and the acoustics are spot on. Definitely will try to attend more shoes here See more..
  7. 4.5 Downtown Cabaret Theatre (43 reviews)
    - Excellent venue for a concert.
    Thursday: 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM Theaters
    Downtown Cabaret Theatre image
In true Cabaret style, your are seated at tables, and depending on the size of your party...with strangers. This gives you the opportunity to mix with the native folk if you're an out of towner. I enjoy that. Also in true Cabaret style, it's BYOB and food, which is great too. People were entering with coolers and picnic baskets full of everything from fancy cheese and crackers, to lobster tails. The acoustics of the hall were great. The staff was very cordial and helpful. I will definitely come here to see another show. See more..
  8. 4.5 St. Margaret's Shrine (17 reviews)
    - Peaceful Walk
    Churches & Cathedrals
    St. Margaret's Shrine image
I was out for my daily walk and decided to stop in to relive childhood memories. As a little boy I always remembered visiting the shrine on Easter. My parents would bring us every year. It was very serene. A peaceful walk with plenty of benches to sit under the trees and enjoy some shade. As I walked around and looked at the sights it brought back great memories. There were plenty of places to light a candle and say a prayer or two. No festival this year but always time to say a prayer. There is no fee associated with your visit just be respectful to others who may be visiting. See more..
  9. 4.5 St Marys by the Sea (10 reviews)
    - A Little known gem in Bridgeport
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
St Marys by the Sea image
Saint Marys by the Sea is a park, a walkway along the edge of the Ash Creek nature preserve to Long Island Sound and around to the Bridgeport channel. There's a grassy hillside along the walk, often shaded by trees. Bench are available for enjoying the view and families often picnic at the picnic tables and on the hillside. There's always a breeze off the water. One sees all ages: seniors, couples, solo adults and children. Some fish from the side of the walk or the rocks. The sunrise over a lighthouse, and the sunset to the west over the salt marsh and Sound view need to be seen and enjoyed. See more..

    - Great little find!

    Aspetuck Brew Lab image
Great find! We were out and about checking out different breweries and this one is a little gem. First, it is cozy yet small but they have some limited outdoor seating w heat lamps, and the staff was very friendly, fast, and pleasant. It has a really cool vibe for some reason and my husband really enjoyed their brews. I was my hubby's DD for the day so I didn't taste any but was enjoying the vibe there. There is a restaurant right next door if you want to go food (wings type place) and also, just a side bar, the parking is limited but maybe parking on street. Glad we found this place and would definitely recommend it to our friends. There is a TV too and it is small so plan accordingly I guess! Lots of people came in for to go orders so it seems popular. - Mongers is amazing!!! Huge upgrade to Bridgeport
    Antique Shops
    Mongers Market image
Mongers is so cool! This nice husband and wife bought the abandoned building a few years ago and pumped life back into it! They did an amazing job and now they sell antiques and have other “monger” vendors in the back! Great selection, it’s huge and the prices are totally fair! Support this business because the whole city will start to improve around it! Love it! Thx See more..
  15. 4.0 Beardsley Zoo (469 reviews)
    - Cute but quiet during COVID
    Thursday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Zoos
    Beardsley Zoo image
My husband and I came here as something to do during the pandemic, and they seemed pretty prepared (or as least as much as is possible in these times). You buy timed tickets for a specific block of time, and there are plenty of hand sanitizer stations and paths that measure out physical distancing. A lot of the exhibits are closed, which is understandable, but also made the experience a bit disappointing. Maybe the zoo could have taken off more than a dollar from the entrance fee, or offered something else as enticement? Altogether, though, I’m glad that the zoo is open and functional right now. 16. 4.0 Seaside Park (134 reviews)
    - Beautiful place for a stroll
    Thursday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Parks
    Seaside Park image
This beautiful, clean park is an excellent place for a walk, to relax and enjoy the weather, or to merely enjoy the views of the Long Island Sound. Half of this park is sandy beach and the other half is a stone breakwater, but both halves are equally pretty. There are a few statues throughout the park of famous local people. There are also sports fields and places to picnic. Every summer they used to have a festival with live music and various artworks, although this ended a few years ago. Still, sometimes there's live music. See more..
  17. 4.0 Discovery Museum (80 reviews)
    - Lots of potential, but needs some love.
    Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Children's Museums
    Discovery Museum image
Nice small science center for kids packed with potential for fun, but suffering from a little neglect in the maintenance of exhibits. With a little love, it should be easy to make things shine a little more. There was a mobile STEM lab outdoors for paper rocket building (a University of Bridgeport partnership). There is an admission fee that varies by age. Always good to have a community resource like this for family fun and learning. See more..

    Arenas & Stadiums
    Webster Bank Arena image
I took my indvidual to see the Sound Tigers and he was so excited. We went thru AARP so we had free tickets to the event. The actual problem was he uses a walker so, the usher who happened to be disabled as well, call the stadium manager and she hooked us up with amazing seats that were handi-accessible and he was in his heaven and I was happy for him. It was a good time thanks to the attentive staff and management. We can't wait to go back. See more..

Great food, cocktails and ambience. Will definitely be back. A big step above most pub food. The selection of sliders alone was impressive. We also had the Brussels sprouts and steak and really enjoyed it all. The S.o.b cocktail was perfect. Plenty of parking in back and the staff is great and knows their stuff. See more..

  24. 4.0 Housatonic Museum of Art (7 reviews)
    - Great little art museum
Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
This great little museum is part of Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport. It consists of separate gallery space (now featuring Pop! An exploration of pop art including several spectacular works by Andy Warhol and others.) In addition to the formal gallery space, the whole building, really, is a gallery as the vision of the founder of the museum is to allow students and staff to live amongst fine art, all the time. Even some of the classrooms contain original art. The public is invited to explore the galleries and the whole building, including the President's offices, all for free! See more..
