This is a beautiful place to visit but before I go any further, here are some important tips: *there's no potable water so you need to bring your own *bring extra water to rinse your feet, face etc *better if you drive an SUV or truck *dirt road for about 15-20 min *bring snacks *no toilets near by *the salt is very thick and sticks to you automatically when you touch the water *no cell service It's a very breathtaking location. The pink water brings joy looking at it and splashing around. You can also do a little hiking before you get in the water. It's very relaxing and it seems to just calm you down and take in the beauty. See more..

I used to live in Logan and travel back and forth quite a bit. As I trained for a marathon I often stopped in Mantua to do my long runs. It's 4 miles to go around the reservoir, and it's a beautiful gravel path. Great for walking, biking, horseback riding, and running. There are also bike trails on the east side of the reservoir. I haven't biked up there, but I have hiked and ran. There can be lots of bugs but it's beautiful and not crowded at all! There are several places with pit toilets. See more..
