   We went around 5:30pm. The visitor center was closed but the gate was open for traffic to drive the loop (about 3.5 miles). We saw eagles, turtles, deer, ducks, and geese. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. See more..

   I especially appreciated the reference library, a chance to sit and browse through an eclectic collection. Loved the information and pictures about the Sturgeon. Facinating information on the indigenous peoples history. The love of history is reflected by the care and enthusiasm that has gone into this small museum. See more..

   This is a place where you want to do a quick walk-thru scan, go again a little slower, and then make you final pass to find what you want. There is a ton of stuff, and most all of it is not junk. They have really put a lot of effort in what they display. And look out for all the little nook & cranny peek-a-boo spots, because there are several and you can miss them. I won't give a laundry list of specific items, but I will say this... I collect vintage, steel beer cans, and the second I walked in I knew I would find some. And, indeed I did.
