   The Temporary was opened with the idea of gathering support for a permanent art and performance space in Basalt. Which is still very much the plan. In the meantime however, there is so much to love about The Temporary! The space has a kind of speakeasy feel to it. The entrance door is unmarked and unremarkable, but once inside it's a mixture of just barely fixed up space with decadent chandeliers perfectly complementing the vibe. The sound equipment and stage though is all thoroughly professional. It's an intimate space, but with enough room for dancing. The night we were there was a honky-tonk night and the crowd was definitely on it's feet and enjoying the band. The entertainment is varied -- comedy, music, lectures, salsa music with lessons and a food truck, and educational events. The aim is to bring a wide variety of people together and by developing a strong cultural focus increase economic and cultural diversity in the Valley.    What a great surprise when we were talking to a local for a gift shop and they recommended Love you more. Walk in to a shop with all kinds of crafts and clothing nicknacks and novelties . The owner Julie is a sweet heart and very nice to talk to she has crafts that are made from old license plates and I was looking for a plate from Hawaii and she called her contact that sent her a picture of 3 within minuets and I ordered one.    I have booked two trips (two full days and one half day trip with guide Chris Kish and have told many friends that it was the most enjoyable fishing trips of my 65 years of fishing. We caught both size and numbers of rainbow and browns on the Frying Pan River wading and floating on the Roaring Fork and Colorado. On the Frying Pan I caught three fish over 5 pounds with over 20 total fish landed. Although I consider myself an above average fisherman, Chris's tips refined several techniques needed for success.     Woody Creek distillery has fantastic spirits in a beautiful facility with friendly and attentive staff. After we tasted flights of three spirits, (potato vodka, gin, rye) we just had to have an old fashioned. I particularly liked the one that came with a piece of bacon on a skewer. We bought bottles of summer seasonal blue gin and 55% ABV single batch rye to take home and were pleased to learn our tastings were complimentary.     My Buddy and I used Trey as a guide for 2 half days on the Frying Pan. Spring snow storm created some adverse conditions (got a little better 2nd day).
