   Moosehorn NWR is a beautiful spot to spend time. There is something for everyone. You can drive the Refuge's access roads seeing woodlands, lakes, ponds, and wildlife or you can take one of the trails available. My favorite ride through the Refuge is taking the road directly across from the Headquarters Road, Goodall Heath Road. It'll take you to Vose Pond Road and you can either loop back to Goodall Heath or continue on to Magurrewock Road and exit the Refuge at Icehouse Rd (when it's open - check at the Visitor Center). There are beaver dams, ducks, native azaleas and moose, if you're lucky enough to see one. The stands off the Charlotte Rd (just off Route 1) often have nesting Eagles in them. Fall foliage is beautiful and spring blooms are too. I visit here often and plan to take the Woodcock Trail in spring to try and see their mating dance! See more..
