   This was a wonderful experience especially for a scaredy cat like me! I was nervous about doing it as I am not good with heights but I felt completely safe with the highly confident and competent crew. The views were fantastic and the pilot (Raphie) was happy to answer any my questions about ballooning and to point out places of interest during the flight. The take off and landing were smoother than anything I have experienced in a plane. I highly recommend Portland Rose Hot Air Balloons.    This is my favorite place to visit in all of Aurora! This is the tasting room for the Pheasant Run Winery. Located in a cool old bank building built for the 1905 Portland Exhibition. Be careful to note the unusual hours they are open. They are only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They open at noon on these days. On Saturday and Sunday they close at 5 pm. On Friday they stay open in the evening serving food and live music during the summer months. The Host is also the Gentleman who actually makes the wines. He is justifiably proud of the quality of his wines. Glasses of many of the wines are also available for $6.00 to $7.00 a glass. This is a wonderful respite if you are a guy.. The rest of the historic downtown is primarily antique shops. Sitting for a few minutes and sipping some wonderful wines can make the antique stores far more enjoyable. See more..

   The Canby Ferry travels across the Willamette River to connect the town of Canby to the town of Wilsonville. A cyclist or pedestrian is still free of charge and a regular size car is about $2.00 to cross the river. The picturesque view of the river activity is fun to see as the ferry crosses it and every once in a while for no real reason we just have to take the ride. The information line for the ferry which is in Clackamas County is 503-650-3030 . Someone wrote that the ferry is in Aurora which is the next little town south of Canby on Highway 99 but the Canby Ferry is in Canby very near to Molalla River State Park.    Three levels of shopping and filled to the brim. Plus the employees were the friendlist of any antique shop I have been to in my life, and I have been to many. I have worked in stores and have been a vendor on and off for my adult life. They had a little bit of this and a little bit of that. A huge selection truly! They also had complementary bottled water in a cooler which was WONDERFUL on a hot summer day. There were hundreds of people milling through the town. I really thought it was very generous of them to be offering water (the couple in front of me took one going into the store and out of the store) Thank you to whom ever was the guy greeting at the back door.     This store is on the end of town and easy to miss if you're walking through the heart of Aurora. Be sure to stop here too. So many rooms full of fun antiques! And we were pleasantly surprised to find prices more reasonable than at some of the other stores in town.     I love this place. My grandson and I have been going here for years. He loves the hot dogs and ice cream (I like the sandwiches) before running to feed the animals. He also loves playing on "Noah's Ark" and the Allis Chalmers tractor, along with other good old fashioned fun things to do. Fir Point is a delightful place with really lovely people working there. The only time the hours were unpredictable was during COVID and I trust they were doing their best to be thoughtful of their employees as well as the community that they serve. See more..
