    Country Square Western Wear image
We were on our way to visit our daughter and son-in-law and our new grandson in Bellevue, Washington. Before departing, I had checked out the website for Country Square and I knew that it was a store that I just had to visit. I like to wear exotic skin western boots. They are hard to find. We programmed our GPS and headed south to Auburn in heavy traffic. It was a fairly long drive but it (and the sunny day) was worth it. On arrival, we found that the owner, Shawn Nirschl, was having a tent sale ( 2 for 1). I found a beautiful Circle S western jacket and slacks to match (photo attached). I then found a pair of black Dan Post python boots. They fit like a glove! A huge selection of western boots and they were all on sale at 20% off. We will definitely be going back for a return visit. The selection and pricing is just too good to pass up. See more..

Gosanko Chocolate - Factory Outlet image
I went to the little shop that is several blocks away from the factory for Gosanko. They have a coffee menu, many chocolate options, and several varieties of fudge. All I wanted was a mocha, but instead I also left with several delicious chocolates, and a sample of orange vanilla fudge! The young lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful! See more..

  8. 5.0 The Little Farm at Windwater (1 review)
    - Awesome Venue for 6th Birthday Party
    Spent 2-3 hours Farms
My daughter-in-law found a petting farm that was phenomenal! From the moment we arrived until the time we left owners Bob and Lynn Vick made everyone feel welcome and special. We never felt rushed, each child learned the correct way to hold chicks, bunnies, and guinea pigs. They fed and petted donkeys, and, at least twice rode the horses. There was plenty of outside running room safe from traffic with a play house. Large barn served as eating area with ample opportunities for children to wash hands before eating. As a retired teacher, I would highly recommend The Little Farm at Windwater to preschoolers easily through 5th graders. I'm sure Bob and Lynn could alter the experience for older city children who never experience farm animals. Lifelong lessons are learned when just a few minutes are spent cradling a bunny or making a chicken chair with your hand for a fluffy little chick. See more..

    Gardens
    Soos Creek Botanical Garden image
So much space and so much to see in this garden. I enjoyed the many trails, plants, pond, creek, artwork, birds (including peacocks), and fresh air. There’s no charge to enter, they have a donation box to help with keep the garden running. They have signs that say to wear a mask and everyone did put their masks on while walking past each other. It felt safe during this pandemic to wander these gardens with other responsible people. I took a photo of the map in the beginning, I’m glad I did. There are many small trails not on the map, you can easily spend over an hour here walking down all the paths. I’d definitely visit again. See more..

Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Parks • Playgrounds
    Roegner Park image
Roegner Park is deceptively large. It's frankly more of a trail way point than a conventional park, but it's still got a playground, picnic shelter, and several tables and benches along the White River. It connects to the White River trail, accordingly, and the Boulder Creek (?) trail from there, giving you a very large area to have a gentle hike from. Small parking lot, bathrooms are currently closed due to COVID-19. See more..

    - Great Float!

    Flaming Geyser State Park image
Had a great time floating the river today. We arrived around 10:30am on the hottest day of the year so far and parked in the furthest lot in the park. Floated all the way down to the parking area by the park entrance and then walked back to the truck, carrying our tubes. The walk took us about 20 minutes. Arrive early because the parking lots in the park filled up fast and the roadside parking just outside the entrance gate was packed too, it was Sunday though. See more..

  21. 4.0 Auburn Environmental Park (7 reviews)
    - Beautiful Observation Opportunities for Bird-Watchers and Nature Lovers
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Auburn Environmental Park image
The Environmental Park is essentially a boardwalk with a birding tower and picnic tables at one end. There are trailheads on both Main Street and Western Ave, but Western Ave is the better choice if you're driving since there is a small parking lot available there. The birding tower and platform are there too just adjacent to the parking lot. From the tower, the boardwalk meanders through wetlands and meadows to the Main Street end. Along the way there are many benches as well as interpretative signage on the wildlife and environments on view. Because of the sensitivity of the area, leave your dog at home (except, of course, for service dogs). For bike riders, this park is easily accessible from the nearby Interurban Trail, but plan on parking your bike at the trailhead and enjoying the park on foot. Bring field glasses if you have them; this is a paradise for birding! See more..
