   We have been to the Ocotillo Performance Arts center for two performances. The first was a Beatles tribute that was very fun. The second was a traveling troupe that performed A Christmas Carol. Very outstanding performance. I missed the Pink Floyd laser light show but I saw that in El Paso. But I would have liked to have seen it here. It’s a very intimate theatre.    Only by accident did we come across the information of street sculptures in Artesia. They were so good that we would go out of our way to see them and advise you to do the same. There are numerous clusters of sculpture scenes throughout this small city. There is a scene of a working oil rig with workers. Near the library is a stack of Classics with children atop. There are cowboy roping scenes and more. These and more are all in bronze. See more..

   We are spending a few days in Carlsbad. We needed something to do, so we found Artesia Lanes (about 30 mins away, but worth the drive). The facility is new, nice, and clean, the personnel are very nice and gracious. We ate at the Cafe there, and seriously, the food rivaled any casual restaurant we've been to. They have anything from burgers to chicken fried steak! The fried pickles and fried cheese are fantastic! There was an arcade where the kids played until our lane was ready. The stuffed animal claw machine is winnable. They walked away with six stuffed animals. We were very pleased with the experience, the kids had fun, and we would definitely recommend it if you are in the area. See more..
