  1. 5.0 Thrown Elements Pottery (14 reviews)
    - A fun activity for adults and children
    Saturday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Lessons & Workshops
This is a “paint your own pottery” studio, and a fun experience for both kids and adults. After painting a piece of pre-formed pottery (such as mugs, plates, other tableware, and decorative pieces) with glazes, it is fired, and then you have a fully functional ceramic piece to use at home. Those who want to do more can take “wet clay” classes, and learn how to form traditional pottery on the wheel or by hand. It has a fun atmosphere, and the staff are very helpful and enthusiastic. You can just drop in to choose a piece of pottery and paint it, or take a short wet clay workshop. Time needed to do this is just dependent on the complexity of the piece, and how complex you want to get with your painting design. They also offer children’s pottery painting birthday parties. I am a customer; I have been taking adult wheel throwing classes there for about 3 years. See more..

  5. 5.0 Nickol Knoll Golf Club (2 reviews)
    - GREAT 9 HOLE COURSE
    Golf Courses
Most par 3 golf courses have beat up tees and the greens are in rough shape, not Nickol Knoll. I am a single digit handicap golfer, I love coming here to work on my approach shots. I can use anything from my Sand wedge to 7 iron depending on the wind and weather. There is elevation, a little water, and the course has a lot of character to make it interesting. This is where Payton's hill was for those Bears fans. You can bring anyone from the beginner to the experienced and they will have fun. See more..
  6. 5.0 Muller House (1 review)
    - Representing life of a middle class family during 1880-1900
Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
The Muller and Banta Houses, which are located adjacent to one another on the grounds of the Arlington Heights Historical Museum in Arlington Heights, Illinois, represent life of middle class families during the 1880-1900 period. The Muller House, at 500 North Vail Avenue, was built in 1882 for the family of F.W. Muller and his soda pop business, which he operated out of his basement. It was one of the first commercial establishments in Arlington Heights and was part of the city's early transition from a rural settlement to a large suburb of Chicago. An exhibit provides the history of the Arlington Club soda that Muller introduced in 1872. After touring the museum, visitors can purchase four-packs of Arlington Club soda in the gift shop. The house also is an uncommon blend of architectural styles with Victorian and Green Revival designs. Prominent among the house's middle class features is its woodwork, which includes a carved oak staircase. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Next door, at 514 North Vail Avenue, is the Nathaniel Moore Banta House, an Arts and Crafts residence that was built in 1908 and was the first architect-designed house in Arlington Heights. Today, it is used to display and store the Martha Mills doll collection of more than 1,000 dolls and the Lorraine Korenthal Dollhouse Collection. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. See more..

    Arlington International Racecourse image
We had an awesome time with friends. The racetrack has beautifully maintained grounds. We enjoyed going down to the Paddocks to get a first look at the horses. We would then place a bet and then go down to the rail to watch the race. We love being close to the track when the horses run past the finish line. It’s so exciting when the horse you choose Wins!!!! After the race, we love watching the jockey in the Winner circle and then watching him give goggles to a very excited spectator. We enjoyed having lunch upstairs overlooking the Paddock. Thanks Arlington Racetrack for the wonderful memories of watching such beautiful and fast horses. Amazing experience. See more..

  13. 4.5 Royce' (2 reviews)
    - A place for delicious chocolate
    Saturday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
    Royce' image
Royce' is located on the south edge of the food court in the Mitsuwa Marketplace. The Mitsuwa Marketplace is on the northeast corner of Arlington Heights Rd. & Algonquin Rd. and there is plenty of parking. Royce' is noted for its high-end luxury chocolate. Luxury is a good word, since the chocolate is absolutely decadent. The staff is slightly more formal, but they are very friendly and helpful. The prices are a bit higher. If you are lucky, like we were, you can try some samples of chocolate, you'll buy and you'll return. See more..

I always find unique items here, especially in the stationery and gift sections. On this trip I was tempted by an amazing selection of imported passport covers, gel and other art pens, stuffed animals, stickers, scissors, rubber stamps, incense holders, key covers, sox, erasers, origami paper, journals, pencil cases, luggage tags, totes, and backpacks. And that's not all. You'll find the store just inside the entrance to Mitsuwa Marketplace, on your left. See more..
  16. 4.0 House of Music & Entertainment (1 review)
    - Never realized that there was a spot like this
    Saturday: 11:00 AM - 4:00 AM Spent 1-2 hours Bars & Clubs • Dance Clubs & Discos
House of Music & Entertainment image
The House of Music & Entertainment is an entertainment, concert and bar venue that is located in Arlington Heights in the Prospect Crossings shopping center. There is lots of parking in front and there is also an outdoor patio in front. This sports bar has built-in table taps (some of which also offer shots), about 80 plasma TVs, and a full menu of pub food. There is a 15,000 sq. ft. theater which has a 28’x30′ stage, a state of the art sound system, and offers stadium style booth seating The theater has featured local and national bands, DJ’s and entertainers. We happened to be there on an open mic night when they often have local entertainment. The food was good, albeit a bit more expensive. We had some appetizers from the late night menu which included jalapeno poppers and the pretzel sticks. The staff seemed friendly enough, but then it wasn't extremely crowded. See more..
  17. 3.5 Gatsbys Sports Pub (15 reviews)
    - Open Thanksgiving Evening
    Saturday: 10:30 AM - 3:00 AM Bars & Clubs
    Gatsbys Sports Pub image
When your thanksgiving meal is in the middle of the day, by the time the evening rolls around and you don't have to work on Friday you want to go out. Thankfully a friend and I stumbled upon a full parking lot and this bar on the holiday. They had a digital music box as well as a great music selection and the kitchen stays open late. Great spot for a post holiday drink. See more..
  18. 3.0 Arlington Ale House (8 reviews)
    - Not accomidating for handicapped & teen parties
    Bars & Clubs
    Arlington Ale House image
Came here with a friend in a wheel chair she has CP. Not only were the servers rude in trying to get drinks- they would not come to the table to help her order nor bring the drink to her after ordering. Which would have been fine but the doorways etc. Would not fit her standard sized chair. The bathroom too was difficult to manage- bathroom was filthy and the water from the faucets shoots out everywhere creating a very slippery surface on the floor and counter. If you happen to drop in with friends on a weekend night beware- they have lots of parties and areas are sectioned off. What causes concern is that we experienced high schoolers having various parties and at 10 pm they were still there. Very awkward. I asked the bouncer if this was normal, he said yes and said others have complained. It is not appropriate to have teens in a bar mingling with of age adults. *The teens do not stay in their party area* This is our main reason for not returning. See more..
  19. 3.0 Arlington Lanes (2 reviews)
    - A hidden gem
Bowling Alleys • Bars & Clubs
So great to have Arlington Lanes in the neighborhood. They have ample parking, a place to play pool, a party room, the facility is very clean and well maintained. It's a perfect spot for the family, couples, or singles to participate in our favorite past time, bowling! The price to bowl and rent your shoes is reasonable as well. We bowled three games plus shoe rentals for two came out to 24 dollars and it was the weekend too. A good deal in my opinion. See more..
