Great walking path
Lake Arlington is a great place to go for a walk or jog in 3 seasons. Clear paved walking path and side for joggers alike are around the entire lake. There is ample free parking as well. They also have a cute little snack shop to have a coffee or light bite. They also have little boats you can take out for a rental fee. There is an abundance of wildlife to see and watch while you’re walking. If you’re trying to get your steps in for the day, this is a nice change of pace from your regular paths!

paved path around lake
For me, the best feature is the two-mile path around the lake. It is shared by cyclist/bikers/bladers and walker/joggers. There are signs telling you which lane to use and which direction to travel. The outside lane is for cyclist/skaters/rollerbladers who move in a counter clockwise direction. The inside lane is for runner/joggers who may move in either direction. Hopefully this will keep everyone safe.

Trail design
Park district needs to stop working with inane path directions and build a proper path wide enough for EvERYONE to stay to the right except to pass! I have visited frequently and have noticed visitors confusion every time. Have never seen a path like this....
