  2. 5.0 Purple Robe Lavender Farm (3 reviews)
    - A delightful Lavender Farm in Arlington, WA.
    Monday: Farms
    Purple Robe Lavender Farm image
I drove up to Arlington to see this quaint Lavender Farm called Purple Robe. It takes about 1 hour from Seattle. It's an easy drive and so worth it. This place reminds me of someplace straight out of Province France. It's such a beautiful relaxing place. Purple Robe is bursting with color and fragrance. There is also an amazing view of the mountains in the background. It's a small farm that sits on about 5 acres. Do wear walking shoes you can walk around the farm that sits on a slight hill. The parking area, front and side are all flat. They encourage you to have a picnic at the farm and take lots of family photos. They have an amazing farmers market where they sell everything lavender. I had cookies and lavender lemonade, both were fantastic. Check them out now while they are still in bloom. See more..

  8. 5.0 Whitehorse Trail (1 review)
    - Awesome Rail Trail
    Biking Trails
This is a Snohomish County rail trail that eventually will run from the Centennial Trail in Arlington to Darrington. At this time, the Arlington start is at Trafton, with a farm parking lot on 115th. It is currently 24 miles of gravel, flat trail riding with much of it in sight of water, either river, creeks or swamps. The river, the highway, and the rail trail are all sandwiched into a valley, so you're never far from the other two. There are few signs and no services except a porta-potty at Trafton. However, you can find intermediate starting points simply by looking toward the river from the highway. The 24 miles makes a fulfilling day with lunch in Darrington. See the Snohomish County Parks web pages for details. See more..

We found this Distillery through Groupon. I actually wanted to visit it last year, but we ran out of time. I'm glad we were able visit this year. Dave the distiller actually gave us the tour. He was friendly, knowledgeable and gave an interesting tour. I can safely say this was the best Distillery tour we've had(so far). After the tour was the tasting and we ended up taking home a bottle of Bourbon. The Groupon also included a gift, which was a Moscow Mule gift set. Thanks again for the great tour. See more..

    Biringer Farm image
This is a great local family-owned farm to visit in October when it is time to pick pumpkins, as well as in June when the strawberries are ripe! They have several great photo opportunities and some activities for the kids. This farm doesn't overdo it with the activities, which is nice for the families who want to be able to pick pumpkins or berries without swarms of people. See more..

  18. 4.0 Jordan Bridge (11 reviews)
    - Where has this bridge been hiding
    Bridges
    Jordan Bridge image
Just out for a drive with the family, we stumbled across a sign that said Jordan Bridge. We knew there was a river that ran thru but what's the big deal with a bridge. Well, take the time and park, because for the little town of Arlington, its something to behold. Parking lot is rather small, that is directly in front of the bridge, however north approx 500ft is an alternate parking lot. Don't park across the street anywhere because that is private property. Once on the bridge you hear splashing and kids playing. Get to the middle and look over (if you dare) and it's a long ways down. Couples soaking up some rays, dogs playing fetch and kids playing in the water. I must caution that, from the bridge view, you can see that the back is about 10 out then it drops off fast. So use your own judgment if you want the little ones in the water, oh and the under current is swift. All and all it's a nice surprise to have seen this bridge, literally in the middle of nowhere. See more..
  19. 4.0 PA Fitness (1 review)
    - PA Fitness
    Health Clubs
My wife and I keep a regular workout schedule, even when on vacation. We have utilized PA Fitness once before while in the Arlington, WA area. This time the owner gave us a great price for 2 weeks of our stay. We attended several of the spinning classes, Zumba, and a class where different stations are used for fitness and strength. We had the pleasure of having both Holly and Lynn as our spinning class leaders, and I worked with Holly during the fitness and strength class. Both were very informative, fun, and into doing their workouts. Thank you ladies!!! Even though I mountain bike and do spinning classes back at home, both kicked my butt in spinning! See more..
  20. 4.0 Gleneagle Golf Course (1 review)
    - Sneaky Tough Course
    Golf Courses
On paper, Gleneagle looks like a pushover. How hard can a course be if it is only 5,960 yards long (from the tips), even if it is a par 70? Don't kid yourself. This little rascal will eat you alive. It is the only course I have ever played in which the course rating was higher than par. (At least from the yardage at which I play, which is usually 6200 yards for a par 72.) The course bills itself as having "the best greens in the Pacific Northwest", which may be true. Pete Dye did not design this tight, devious course, but he would approve. And the price is amazing: $25 for a senior, walking 18 holes. Prepare to be humbled. See more..
  21. 4.0 Boulder River Trail (1 review)
    - Definitely would go to the waterfalls again but might turn around there.
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails
    Boulder River Trail image
Boulder River Trail is a bit over 8 mile RT hike with some elevation changes, big trees (including one to climb over and one to climb under on the trail), lots of mushrooms, huckleberries, creek views, and a double waterfall. Definitely a cool hike. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars was because some parts were so overgrown, it was difficult to pass through. We didn’t have any kids with us this trip but I don’t think they would have liked this part with all the overgrown brush swatting them in the face. The overgrown part doesn’t happen until after the waterfalls so that might be a good turn around point with kids. See more..

Ages 16,14 and 10 all LOVED this place. We loved that they were unplugged and getting a ton of exercise. Only $10/hour/child. Totally worth it- an hour was all they could handle. 26. 3.0 Clarendon War Memorial (1 review)
    - Tiny memorial honors Arlington's war vets
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas • Monuments & Statues
    Clarendon War Memorial image
I was walking around Clarendon when I spotted this small old stone memorial and stopped to look it over. It has small plaques from various conflicts with names of service members from Arlington County. It's on the south end of Clarendon Central Park and almost looks like just a part of the park. It's rather small, but that's okay. What's also nice is the north side of Wilson where a bunch of historical photos from the area are hung up behind glass windows to display local spots from the past. While a small spot, it's interesting. I wouldn't go out of my way unless I'm a huge local-history fan, but if you're heading into or out of inner Arlington for a sight-seeing trip, it might be worth a quick stop. Plus, there are TONS of great restaurants in the area. Go for lunch, stop for some history. See more..
