Most of the locals don't know about this small aviation museum. There are no signs or markers for it. It is located inside the airport administration building. It was a nice little museum. It told the whole history of the airport. It started out as a flight training base during WWII. There were lots of photos and lots of memorabilia from locals who were pilots. There was a German POW camp here during the war. One wall had a large plaque and some photos about it. A fellow working behind the counter came out and talked with us. He told us more about the POW camp. He pointed out the window to a water tower. He said that it was originally part of the camp. He said there was also a chimney from the camp laundry near it. In the same area is the VFW building. It was originally the officers club for the camp commanders.See more..
