Lots of WWII history here

Most of the locals don't know about this small aviation museum. There are no signs or markers for it. It is located inside the airport administration building. It was a nice little museum. It told the whole history of the airport. It started out as a flight training base during WWII. There were lots of photos and lots of memorabilia from locals who were pilots. There was a German POW camp here during the war. One wall had a large plaque and some photos about it. A fellow working behind the counter came out and talked with us. He told us more about the POW camp. He pointed out the window to a water tower. He said that it was originally part of the camp. He said there was also a chimney from the camp laundry near it. In the same area is the VFW building. It was originally the officers club for the camp commanders.
