Nemo Diving Center did an outstanding job when my partner and I did two days of diving 14-15 July. Although we had not dove in some time one of the staff did an exceptional job on refresher training that enabled us to thoroughly enjoy four dives over two days. Our dive leader the first day, Amer, and dive leader the second day Ahmed, were both outstanding, but the entire staff was courteous and extremely helpful during the dives by helping us with gear and enabling us to focus on the diving itself. Conditions on the second day around Dibba Rock enabled us to take our longest dives on record. The Diving staff was a fun group that were very aware of strengths and limitations and accommodated accordingly so that we could get the maximum enjoyment, experience and learning from the dives. We look forward to going back there in the future. See more..

One of the best dive centres in the region with a highly skilled team with many years of experience. Equipment and facilities some of the best I have seen in my career and knowledge of the regions best dive sites is second to none! Today dive was an EDA (Emirates diving Association) underwater clean up which was executed professionally and with a variety of skill level to a successful conclusion. The freestyle team are different in a way that is clear they have a love of the environment not only with clean ups but also coral conservation work etc and having marine biologists in the instructor team helps with this! Highly recommend anyone to dive with these guys if you want to feel safe, have fun and learn all in one!!! See more..

It was our first time scuba diving, the staff were friendly and well organised starting from Jaycel who organised our trip with endless help and ending with the other staff who helped us getting off the boat and taking our equipment. There were 3 of us, one child and 2 adults. The diving instructor Samir took his time to make sure that we were familiar with the equipment. My daughter (11yrs) was very scared before the dive, thanks to the diving instructor Mr Samir he took the time to ensure that she was comfortable and relaxed before the dive. The dive was an amazing experience, we were even lucky enough to see a turtle. Thanks to all the staff for an amazing and unforgettable experience for a great price. I am someone that had a fear of being underwater but still wanted to learn how to dive at some point. Captain Yousef was the best couch I could ever ask for! He is extremely patient, knows how to take fear away from you, is very knowledgeable and you will feel very comfortable with him. I’ve been on 4 diving trips with him until now and they’ve been incredible! There are many spots the centre can take you, we went to a nearby rock that was filled with sea creatures (some I’d never expect to see in a place like Fujairah). We even saw a sea turtle (they know where they live). I would definitely recommend this centre to anyone thinking of learning how to dive or wants to explore diving spots in the UAE. See more..

Kalba Bird of Prey Centre lies south west of the city of Kalba, in the emirate of Sharjah. Wonderful center. Twice a day there is a show with hunting birds. Al Ghayl Fort, sometimes also spelled as Al Ghail or Gheel, is part of the Kalba Birds of Prey Centre. It can be visited for a fee, but only as a visitor of the bird park. The fort itself is small but especially together with the bird park worth your visit. It is said that it was first built by an Ali bin Zahi. The fort was rebuilt or completed by Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Al Qasimi in the beginning of the 19th century. It was built on a hill and its purpose was to protect the locals and nearby caravan routes from bandits. Al Ghayl Fort consists of a projecting round watch tower within a rectangular enclosure with several small buildings. One of the buildings holds an old Arabic date press. See more..

The highlight of our visit was our tour guided by Ms. Moza Alzaabi. I recommend booking a tour of the mosque on the mosque website ahead of your visit, which is free. The mosque is absolutely stunning, and our guide Ms. Alzaabi was very knowledgeable on everything about the mosque including all our questions about the building, the art, religious customs, and the UAE. Booking was very easy. The staff are very curtious. We went with our teenage sons. Our captain Lakshim and Fishing expert Abu were fantastic! They were very helpful from the minute we got on the boat to the time we stepped off. Abu is such an enthusiastic fisherman. He was talking the boys through the process of fishing, pointing out different parts of the rod, showing them where the fish were and how to reel the fish. He was getting excited every time the fish hooked to the bait and he got the boys excited as well. Lakshim is a very skilled captain. We didn’t feel sea sick and he was very careful around other boats. We had a very good time and will come back again See more..

Fujairah Fort lies in the city of the same name, in the emirate of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. Although called a fort, I would categorize Fujairah Fort as a castle. It differs distinctively from all other forts in the United Arab Emirates. Research showed that Fujairah Fort was built between 1500 and 1550. That would be during Portuguese rule over the area, so I think it was probably built by the Portuguese. It was built on a 20 meters high hill, overseeing the city and the coast, as it is only situated around 2 km from the coast. Fujairah Fort has an irregular ground plan which follows the outline of the rock it was built on. It has 3 round towers and one square tower, which probably served as a keep. In 1925 Fujairah Fort was restored for a first time. Around 1960 one of the round towers and the square one had collapsed. But they were rebuilt during another restoration between 1998 and 2000. Amazing experience for a change away from the usual Malls , Parks, Beaches . Been there with my family of four on the 7th of Feb 2020 . SUV not at all a must , nice weather and the wadi had fairly reasonable amount of water flow ( was cold ) . Suggest to carry food along as there was nothing available nearby .Earlier the better to reach though there wasn't much crowd , also make sure you have footwear to walk inside the pool to avoid getting hurt due to the not so small pebbles /small rocks .The best part is that we got to park just 5 mins away from the pool . Wahlah Fort, sometimes also spelled as Awhala, lies in the village of the same name, in the emirate of Fujairah. Wahlah Fort was probably built somewhere in the first part of the 18th century. Archaeological excavations showed that the Islamic fort was built on the site of a much earlier fortified settlement dating back to the 8th century B.C. The fort has a small rectangular ground plan with one round watch tower and 2 buildings around a courtyard. Next to the fort are visible foundations of earlier dwellings. The fort is situated on a ridge overlooking the wadi that runs next to the village. Between 2003 and 2005 it was restored. Wahlah Fort can now freely be visited during daytime, although you will have to sign the guestbook of the guard. See more..

This is a fairly simple and functional fort. There are steep steps or a steep ramp to the entrance and more steps in the entryway. There is the typical open flat center. I had been grumbling about a lack of post cards at most of our stops. A young man stood with a basket of assorted items such as flags and a packet of post cards. Most welcome. The towers have fairly steep steps. However, they give you a good understanding of the tactical importance of the fort -- good views. There are other exhibits such as the houses which you will see on the left as you drove through the entry arch. We were on a tour and had no time for this. It looks interesting. No tour guides. DATE 2023 This is one of the finest small museums I have visited. It is not to be confused with some of the photos of mosques or the Heritage Village that are posted with it. It is red stone with 2 cannons in front. The museum is comprehensive and compact without being crowded. Each room is displayed and decorated in a theme to show the range of Arab culture over time. Some rooms are lined with sticks and others draped with fabric. There are the usual tools and clothing. There is also a reconstructed burial site and a boat. A lovely area, don’t get scared by the start of the road - any car would take you through - the road is partial (most) concrete but also partially rocky road but a sedan would work well. It seems in the middle on the mountains, although quite close to Fujairah city. It’s a rural quiet area and it gives you a feel of the countryside in this area of the world. The fort itself is the house of the great grandfather of the present Fujairah Ruler and is surrounded by the ruins of the small village that existed there. Al Bithnah Fort lies next to the village of the same name, in the emirate of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. Al Bithnah Fort was built in 1735. Others say it was built as a result of Wahabi incursions in the area, following the Battle of Bithnah that occurred here in 1745. It holds a controlling view over the Wadi Ham and the village on the other side of the wadi. The wadi used to be the main route from the coastal city of Fujairah through the Hajar Mountains to Manama on the other side. It was restored in first decade of the 21st century. Al Bithnah Fort has a rectangular ground plan with 2 sturdy round corner towers on the side of the wadi.
