   We just came back from a 5-day tour with Januzak along the Pamir Hwy from Dush to Osh including the Wakhan Valley. The tour went very well and I can highly recommend Januzak and his travel company. The price was competitive and our itinerary request was exactly followed. We were able to stop anytime when we wanted to take photos. Due to Januzak’s 20-year long experience in this region he was very knowledgeable and a safe driver, we felt safe for the entire route despite rather bad road conditions. Hi English is very good, so communication was very easy. If you book your tour early enough Januzak will commit to drive himself which I was happy about. We will come back to Tajikistan for sure and book with Januzak again. We were a group of 4 passengers which easily fit into Januzak’s 4WD.    I have spend one of my most wonderful holiday in and around Murghab. Bakir arranged for me a day walk trip in the mountains. He gave me hiking shoes and a warm jacket because I didn`t had it on me. With an old but well working Russian jeep we drove in to a valley. With Bakir I hiked to a top of a smaller hill, we got lunch there and we came down on the other side where the jeep already was waiting for us. This was my first hiking experience but Bakir with his enormous patience and kindness helped me a lot to survive. He has eyes for everything what tourists needs. We have visited several yourts down and local people were extreamly kind to me too. Even the dogs around. On the way home we stopped to watch the amazing sunset when the mountains around got fire colours. Bakir is an excellent guide in an excellent place. I felt home. See more..

   We traveled for 2 weeks with Bartang/Sarez tours in and far beyond the Pamir with our really good and enthusiastic driver Mamanazid! He made this tour even more special then it already was. Although we thought in front we would like too drive by our own, we’re really happy we didn’t because of the challenging terrain we faced all the time. During our searching phase we had a lot of contact with Nazrulo who helped us really good with everything. There was a lot of possibilities in adjusting the tour in the way we would want it.    Murghab is surrounded by fascinating mountains, the Pamir, Alay to the north into Kyrgystan and the Tian Shan ranges all coming together in one gigantic mass of mountains which is exquisite. I’m not an expert on where the ranges go to but I have to say the region is covered in mountains as far as you can see. Just west of Murghab is Madianskaya Valley and the “hot springs” that we hiked to last August when we were in the area. The valley was lush and green when we went through, you are basically on your own out there, not even sure any nomads are around but anywhere you go in the world, someone lives there so it is possible. The hot springs were minimal, not hot, more like warm which was still nice to have a quick soak in before hiking out. Go for the scenery and the exercise and to say you have been there!    We (a group of four experienced travellers from Poland in early 60-ties) used the services of this company in August 2019 (nearly two weeks from Dushanbe to Qolma Pass) and strongly recommend it to travellers wishing to get acquainted with the beauty of Pamir. Initial correspondence and itinerary discussion was very effective and professional. We appreciate very much their swift organisation and flexibility while dealing with unforeseeable changes (border with China closed temporarily, last minute change of Horse Festival term). The itinerary and programme proposed fit ideally to what we looked for - meeting very nice people, knowing the customs, holidays and everyday life, seeing fabulous and breathtaking landscapes, eating fresh local food. All the time we felt safe, comfortable (even if conditions were very basic e.g at yurt camps) and very well looked after. Our guide was Zhunus a very nice young man speaking very good English who made a perfect team with Ruslan - great, careful and very skilled 4x4 driver. See more..
