   I visited the Mircesti Winery on December 26.2022. We had a hearty and very tasty dinner for 14 people. Hot pies "placinte", melt-in-your-mouth "sarmale" (meat and rice in cabbage leaves), exceptional "cighiri" (liver and muscle meat), very good wine (7 types) and a beautiful atmosphere. Marcela organized a trip to the winery and told us about its history and all the efforts made by the owner to build and maintain this winery. What impressed me - the honest and warm way of doing things. I paid by card, check received (which is rare around here!). This was definitely an excellent experience! See more..

   Designed by Gustav Eiffel of Eiffel Tower fame who also designed the Grand Traian Hotel in nearby Iasi, Romania, it's an interesting design. Since it is the railroad crossing between the borders of Romania and Moldova, you can't cross it. Be careful about approaching since, let me remind, it is a border crossing. Best view of it is from the path behind the Palace of Culture in Ungheni where they also have a display. See more..
