I really enjoyed this kayaking tour with Guillermo. From the start, he made sure the conditions would be okay for a pleasant trip. As a guide, he is very knowledgeable about the birds, different towns, and important information/history about the lake. He can answer questions you have as a long time resident. Guillermo will go at your pace and brings snacks/water. He is a very chill, and fun to talk to. I should add very professional too. This is the best kayak tour I've been on. The women that own this shop are so open and kind. You can get custom clothing in a variety of fabrics: 100% cotton, 100%linen, and mixes. If you like a style but want a different color, the workroom is in the back, and you talk directly with the seamstress/owner who will make whatever you like. I visited many shops the day I spent a very long time in this shop. In addition to some great clothing, there is some beautiful one of kind jewelry, quite modern, and very different from most of the other local shops. See more..

We found 2 markets while staying in Ajijic June 2014. Monday is a market in Chapala. If you stay in Ajijic take the Chapala bus and ask the driver to let you off at the Tiangis, The market goes on for 20-25 blacks and you'll find practically everything, from leather wallets, blouses, pirate movies, food, fresh produce, and used things. Wednesday in Ajijic is a similar market, similar market only smaller, may be 12 blacks but I thought the staff is of better quality. In any case it is very entertaining. See more..

The building is stunning! The gardens are an oasis of heaven on earth! But I really wanted to go to Confession (hadn't been in 10 years) with Fr Basil after I heard how marvelous he was (at the nail shop!) I Am getting choked up remembering how kind, gentle and gracious he was with me, he as like balm on my aching heart! I went to the 9:00 English mass afterwords and it was just wonderful, lots of my favorite music, great choir! Highly recommend whether you RC or not, then spend the morning in the plaza sipping coffee and chatting with 'Mexpats' and natives! High-lite of my trip! See more..

I chose the Cantarito which was delicious. For my entrée I had the surf and turf Molcajete. 23. 4.0 Cruz Azul Soccer Field (1 review)
    - Annual Balloon Regatta
    Sports Complexes
    Cruz Azul Soccer Field image
This local custom marks the end of Summer and beginning of the week-long Independence celebrations held on the local soccer field. Teams of families, friends and commercial entities team up to make these hot air balloons from colourful crepe paper and try to to launch them, mostly successfully although unpredictable breezes can cause some to burn and crash. The “globos” range in sizes and shapes from modest to some as tall as 30 feet and is a truly interesting afternoon for the family. Food, drinks and music add to the family carnival atmosphere. Admission is free, but raffle tickets are available and encouraged to help defray costs. As always, parking is a problem in the village and the concrete seating in the stand reminds one to bring a cushion next year! AivarsT See more..
